Duxford (EGSU)
UK - England, September 1992
Remark
Photographer
XR222 (cn XO-4) One of the two surviving BAC TSR-2 airframes on display in the rain at the Imperial War Museum, Duxford in 1992. This aircraft survived, despite orders to destroy all the airframes and manufacturing jigs, when the UK MoD Order for the aircraft was cancelled in 1965. (Victor K1A Tanker XH648 is at right).

BAC TSR-2
Duxford (EGSU)
UK - England, December 19, 2004
Remark
Photographer
XR222 The TSR.2 was troubled from the start - numerous mechanical problems plagued the flight test program. However, such issues pale into insignificance compared with the politics. Even before it was abandoned in 1965, some 10,000 BAC employees staged a protest march in London calling for the program to be continued. When finally cancelled, all machining tools were cut up, all technical publications were destroyed, even the wooden mockup was burned in front of the employees. A sad story.
