XX260 (cn 096/312096) Dismantled and ready for transport back to RAF Scampton on the back of a truck. Is it the end for this airframe? The aircraft had just finished it's display at Blackpool Airshow on Sunday 7th August when the pilot, Flight Lieutenant Ben Plank, declared a 'pan' as Red 7. This was then upped to a Mayday caused by a fuel and hydraulic leak resulting in an emergency landing. Engineers have tried to fix the aircraft, but it looks like it was unsuccessful (Canon 50D + Sigma 50-500 EX APO DG) |

XX260 (cn 096/312096) Parked on the apron infront of Hangar 3 with 4 RAF engineers trying to get her airworthy again. The weekend before (7th August) while displaying at the Blackpool Airshow 2011, the aircraft had just finished it's display when the pilot, Flight Lieutenant Ben Plank, declared a 'pan' as Red 7. This was then upped to a Mayday caused by a fuel and hydraulic leak resulting in an emergency landing. I hope she's back in the air and performing her spectacular display again soon (Canon 50D + Sigma 50-500 EX APO DG) |
