ZK454 / N (cn BB-1835) There was a lot of discussion before 45 Squadron was authorized to use the King Airs provided by Serco for displays. However, a very impressive routine is now flown that is nevertheless within the civilian operating limitations of the aircraft, and display duty is rotated so as to spread the increased hours evenly and minimize the additional maintenance impact. (The darkened windows have polarizing filters that can be rotated from inside for increased sun protection.) |

ZK454 / N (cn BB-1835) This 45 Squadron King Air is seen here arriving at the Valley Aviation Society charity photo-call. It later peformed a superb display of wing-overs and steep approaches, culminating in a very fast reverse taxi back up the runway on which it had just landed. The advantage of having no special display markings is that the additional workload imposed by displays can be shared throughout the squadron fleet. (40D; Sigma 80-400@80mm; fluid-head tripod; 100th sec exposure; no stabilization) |

ZK454 (cn BB-1835) This King Air (call-sign Cranwell 65) brought personnel from Cranwell to RAF Innsworth for a meeting and the opportunity was taken to undertake two training sorties from Staverton whilst providing air experience to staff of the Directorate of Flying Training. Thanks very much to Sq Ldr Ian Ferguson of DFT, to pilot Sq Ldr Duncan Wright and the rest of the crew for laying on this fantastic experience. (400D & Sigma 28-300) |
