United Nations (Aeroflot)
Mil Mi-26T
Ukhta (Ust-Ukhta) (UCT / UUYH)
Russia, 1995
Remark
Photographer
UN-*** This helicopter was leased from Aeroflot by United Nations to be used in Somalia. Now it is back. Some bad info about Mi-26- its flat-bottom tail plagued its flight career. Under loads, cracks will appear, endangering the whole construction.

Remark
Photographer
RA-65005 (cn 44065) Photographed on Ukhta's apron. This plane is one of candidates for being a "Largest Dog Whistle" in the world. We call it "Shyuka"- "Spike Fish". We had one with teeth painted on the nose... Boy it looked scary!

When an Airliner is not an Airliner? When it is RUSSIAN. This helicopter is operated solely by our Aeroflot Civillian crews, but some trained eye will notice military insignia on the nose... ; )
