Avro Canada
Avro Canada C-102 Jetliner
Ottawa - Rockcliffe (YRO / CYRO)
Canada - Ontario, August 2000
Remark
Photographer
CF-EJD-X (cn 1) Built 1949. This is the nose of the prototype Avro Jetliner. The first passenger jet aircraft that was born even before the Comet in England. Capable of carrying about 50 passengers at speed nearly 500 mph, the project was given-up. Could it be because of British influence? Only the nose is preserved in the National Aviation Museum

Avro Canada CF-105 Arrow
Ottawa - Rockcliffe (YRO / CYRO)
Canada - Ontario, August 2000
Remark
Photographer
25206 (cn 206) Built 1957. The Arrow was the most advanced fighter of its time and could have jeopardized the sales of US fighters to foreign countries. Unexplained circumstances compelled the Canadian government to give up the project (likely due to US pressure). The few Arrows that were built were dismantled and only the nose of 206 is preserved in the National Aviation Museum
