N9663 (cn 20102/59) Seen on taxiway Echo approaching runway 24L for departure to ORD. First flight was July 16, 1970. Delivery date was July 30, 1970. Other serials - N153UA with United Airlines, N14943 with Citicorp Leasing, N9663 with Jet 24 & National Airlines (not Sun King), and also LX-KCV with Caribbean Airways, Cargolux, Iran Air, & Air Afrique. Wears FN 663 with American Airlines. Temporary storage at LAS (Las Vegas) on October 15, 1999. Ferried to GWO (Greenwood) for storage as N153UA. Broken-up at GWO in 2000.

G-DCIO (cn 48277/354) "Flora MacDonald". Caledonian 224 heavy to LGW is lining up runway 25R. First flight was February 11, 1981. Delivery date was April 15, 1981. Built as DC-10-30, cvt'd to DC-10-30(F) freighter. Other serials - N189AX with Omni Intl, XS Aviation, and Drop Three Ltd, and also N48277 with WTCT. Sadly, W/O April 28, 2004 with Centurion Air Cargo as N189AX at BOG. On landing aircraft overran runway after hitting ILS pole. Substancial damage to left stab, underside, and wings with engines #1 & #3 breaking loose.

Other serials - N13066 with Continental Airlines - FN 066, Provident Bank, and Public Service Resources Corporation. Last revenue flight with Continental Airlines was on May 18, 2001. Actually wore VASP colors on one side of the aircraft, Continental Airlines colors on other. Broken-up at OPF.

Other serials - B-HUK with Cathay Pacific Airways Cargo - reserialed from VR-HUK to B-HUK in July 1997. She has yet to loose her white fuselage colors. Wears FN UK with Cathay Pacific Airways Cargo. Stored at VCV (Victorville) on January 13, 2014 as B-HUK. I miss Kai Tak a lot.

N8066U / 2866 (cn 45850/257) United 786 to ORD is seen rolling runway 27 wearing small titles. Manufactured on March 4, 1966. Delivery date was April 1, 1966. Flight 786 has been operated by 727-22, 727-222, DC-8-21, DC-8-51, DC-8-62, DC-8-61, DC-8-71, 767-222, and DC-10-10 equipment, but not a 747-122! WFU during 1980 and stored at LAS in 1980. Donated to Los Angeles Museum of Science & Industry, preserved in old United Airlines colors at the Los Angeles Coliseum mounted on a pole during March 1984.
