WJ231 / O-115 The Sea Fury owes its ancestry to the Hawker Tempest. The pace of development of propeller aircraft pushed Hawker to attempt to shoe-horn the mighty 2,500 hp Bristol Centaurus 18-cylinder radial piston engine into a compact and lightweight airframe. They succeeded and produced the fantastic Fury. Unfortunately the RAF declined the aircraft because of their large stock of Typhoons. The Royal Navy loved it, and the Sea Fury became one of the most successful carrier-based aircraft of all time. |

HS-AXE (cn 193C-1097) Reflecting golden sunshine at dusk, this lovely Tristar was ready for takeoff on evening departure to Taipei as flight 9I328. Unfortunately the pilots decided to abort takeoff due to reportedly engine failure on this second Tristar of Thai Sky Airlines. The aircraft then returned to the apron and the departure was eventually delayed for 7 hours to 0200+1 LT. Hope Thai Sky Airlines could avoid such delays in the future to keep Tristar a regular sighting in Hong Kong. |
