RA-85786 (cn 93A970) Seconds after take-off, enroute to Kish Island. The A300 with Iberia colors was brought from Iberia by Mahan Air for its engines. The aircraft had a fuselage crack, nevertheless, as it was cheaper to transport the engines, they flew the aircraft to Tehran. It was also used for cabin crew training. |

G-AOHU (cn 169) On 07 Jan 1960 G-AOHU was flying Dublin-London, after touchdown at LHR in fog the nose gear failed. The plane skidded 500 yards down the runway before coming to rest, a fire erupted in the nose section and almost destroyed the whole plane. There were no fatalities amongst the 59 on board. The cause was put down to ATC not informing the Captain of a critical deterioration in runway visiblility causing him to land nosewheel first, which overstressed the nose gear fracturing its attachments. |
