SE-DBI (cn 46129/523) "Torgny Viking" was delivered new April 06th 1970, and opb SAS until April 27th 1979. Then "Ylva Viking" with Scanair until February 15th 1982. Leased to Arista as "Valerie" until Febr 3rd 1984. From May 9th 1984 with Thai Int. Later HS-TGZ, Thai A.F. 60110, N798AL and N41CX. Seen from the old roof terrace. The convertible models were easily identified by the extra emergency exit behind the wing. |

It was one of many executive aircraft visiting Staverton during the week of the nearby Cheltenham Festival, which culminated in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. It was the most impressive of several helicopters kept busy shuttling between Staverton and Cheltenham race course during the week of the Cheltenham Festival, which culminates in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. XX194 / CL (cn 041/312041) This Hawk from 100 Squadron at Leeming is pictured in Gaydon Hangar following recovery to Valley after a bird strike. The cockpit canopy has an enormous hole punched in it and fragments of the canopy glass have peppered the airframe with dents and perforations. The flat rear cockpit windscreen (mid-canopy, immediately behind the front ejection seat) is covered in reddish-brown bird puree. (400D, Sigma 28-300 & tripod, three second exposure at f16) |
