N6508Z (cn U20606303) Used by the famous French diver and documentary maker Jacques Cousteau, flown by his son Phillipe on their world-wide adventures. Operated from his innovative ship "Alcyone" which has two metallic "turbosails". The Alcyone was docked in the port of Fremantle until February 1989, having filmed a documentary on marine life off the WA coast. Fitted with Wipline amphibious floats. Built 1981, recently advertised for sale (in amphibious configuration), but no longer on US register - does anyone know fate? |
