N227GB (cn 16597/33345) Manufactured in 1945 as 44-77013, it went to the US Navy as an R4D-7. In 1966 it went to the FAA, and then to the US Dept. of Agriculture in August 1976 as N32A. In December 1976 it became N227GB and went to the GSA. In 1980 it went from the GSA to the CAF. It is shown here just after its transfer to the CAF. It is now with the Great Lakes Squadron as the "Black Sparrow". |

514 Soon after their delivery, Chile decided to upgrade locally the 8 Mirage 50FC and 6 Mirage 50C bought in the early 80’s from France. 514 was the prototype for the conversion to Pantera standard, and is seen here in its first public appearance during FIDA 86. Actually, at that time the conversion only encompassed the addition of canards, but later was expanded to include a new Kfir-style nose (with a new radar and electronic equipment) and strengthening of the undercarriage [with Canon 40D from picture]. |

Seen here as an S-3A, it was later converted to an S-3B, and painted low-visibility grey. Last operated by VS-41, until struck off charge on 28.8.06, and stored in the open at NAS Fallon. Painted in VS-21 markings and is reportedly going to be preserved at Fallon - still there in Feb 2009. |
