Chile - Air Force
Dassault Mirage 50CN Pantera
Santiago - Los Cerrillos (ULC / SCTI) (closed)
Chile, March 1986
Remark
Photographer
514 Soon after their delivery, Chile decided to upgrade locally the 8 Mirage 50FC and 6 Mirage 50C bought in the early 80’s from France. 514 was the prototype for the conversion to Pantera standard, and is seen here in its first public appearance during FIDA 86. Actually, at that time the conversion only encompassed the addition of canards, but later was expanded to include a new Kfir-style nose (with a new radar and electronic equipment) and strengthening of the undercarriage [with Canon 40D from picture].
