405 (cn CV-520) This is actually 44-34009, ex US Navy 67973. During its long career it wore the registrations N62043, CF-IWC, F-WMKR, No 20 of French Navy, CC-CDU and CC-CGY. Donated in 1997 to the Museum, it is seen here restored to represent Chilean Air Force 405 "Manu-Tara" (ex 44-33868), famous for completing the first flight to Easter Island in 1951 [Canon 40D + EF 17-40 f/4L USM]. |

82-1070 / WM (cn 1005/AV-5) National Museum of the US Air Force. This was the second non-flying B-2 airframe used for fatigue testing, but it is painted as 82-1070 ('Spirit of Ohio'). In 1996 the real Spirit of Ohio underwent more than 1,000 hours of extreme temperature testing. To signify these tests, the technicians created the Fire & Ice artwork on the nose landing gear panel and signed it.
