USA - Air Force
McDonnell RF-4C Phantom II
Birmingham - Shuttlesworth International (BHM / KBHM)
USA - Alabama, August 16, 1992
Remark
Photographer
64-1051 / BH (cn 967) The business end of a Recce Rhino during last chance checks prior to a demo flight. For me, this angle emphasizes the "beast" qualities of the Phantom, looking like a fire-breathing dragon about to lunge at its victim; the visual impression is reinforced by the howling produced by the early-model J-79 engines... The unit was the 106th Reconnaissance Sqn., 117th Recon. Wing of the Alabama Air Guard, better known as the Recce Rebels!
