USA - Air Force
Boeing RB-52B Stratofortress
Albuquerque - International Sunport (Kirtland AFB) (ABQ / KABQ)
USA - New Mexico, October 1994
Remark
Photographer
52-0013 (cn 16503) A beautiful day in Albuquerque just seems to match this RB-52B, only the 15th 'BUFF' produced. On the 21st May 1956 she created a storm hotter than the sun over the Bikini Atoll in the Pacific when flying with the Air Research and Development Command. She dropped a 3.75 megatons Mk.15 hydrogen bomb, the first time that a B-52 had been used as a carrier and drop plane for this truly terrifying weapon.

USA - Air Force
Boeing B-29 Superfortress
Albuquerque - International Sunport (Kirtland AFB) (ABQ / KABQ)
USA - New Mexico, October 1994
Remark
Photographer
45-21749 (cn 13642) Perhaps not quite what she seems, this B-29 is in fact 45-21748, which left active USAF service in June 1954 and was allocated as a Ground Instructional Airframe at Chanute AFB in Illinois. It was later transferred to the museum there and painted to represent the "Enola Gay". When Chanute AFB was closed in 1993 she was acquired by the Sandia National Atomic Museum at Kirtland AFB where I caught her just a year later, inaccurately marked as '45-21749'.
