It was a class A fire apparently, not B so not that bad. Still, not sure why we need 8 amphibious assault ships nowadays, having not performed such a mission in over 70 years. Due to their large belly space and their flight deck, I guess they're the most versatile ships the US Navy has. These ships...

Last weekend, a BA B747 set a new subsonic New York-London TATL speed record of 4h56m due to a 200mph jetstream. Also last weekend, BA224 from MSY to LHR did a blazing 8h5m.
