Well I've opened a number of random threads in civil aviation and all of them opened within 3 seconds. The longer threads took perhaps another 3 seconds to load fully. I have a regular dial up connection and it's not a particularly fast one at that. My location is Cape Town, South Africa.

I've seen a few of these on the road now and no matter what angle I view it from, I have to say it does not appeal to me at all. Furthermore, electronic complexity is all very well when it's new, but try maintaining one of these when it is ten years old.
