PA never flew mainline at PVD but as the previous reply mentioned served PVD for a few years via Pan Am Express operated by Ransome Airlines. Ransome was later sold to TW who folded it into TWexpress. Ransome somewhat pioneered the commuter partnership landscape being among one of the first airlines...Jump to post
I’ve maintained that it is almost impossible to guess without knowing the choices of bases. If they go with something like DAB or MLB, the spokes will need to be larger markets like RDU, BWI, PIT, etc. if they are larger bases like FLL, TPA, MSY, etc. then smaller spokes would seem logical. If the b...Jump to post
This would potentially impact BDL more than PVD. HVN to BDL is 56 miles whereas HVN to PVD is 96 miles. Both are directly linked via interstate highways. The area between HVN and PVD is mostly rural versus the area between BDL which is mostly dense suburbs and metro (with some high wealth zip codes...Jump to post
And skipping the drive down to LaGuardia and up to Boston! It'll be interesting to see what happens up the road in Providence as a result of this... This would potentially impact BDL more than PVD. The great deal with community is being the closest airport to some of the welathiest zip codes around the country. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. They are looking to hire 1 ramp agent at PVD. This must be for JetBlue. Unless I’m missing something, this may be just fake news.Jump to post
The struggle I have in guessing where they will fly is the make up of their bases. If they go with “primary” airports for bases, the spokes will likely be to “alternative” airports in the Northeast, Southern Plains, Mid-Atlantic, and the Southeast. Or will it be “alternative” airport bases to “prima...Jump to post
DL basically extended their March schedule through April 11th hence the appearance of partial month changes in April.Jump to post
If Breeze were to enter PVD, my guess would be they consider SFB, SRQ, SAV, CHS, JAX and similar type routes that don’t compete directly with anyone except maybe G4. The difference will be Breeze should have an easier time filling an E90 versus G4 filling an A320.
Just my guess.
I think BWI and MDW service are locks. HOU would seem the next best option to connect their network to/from the western US. ATL and BNA are wildcards in my opinion. This has me wondering as others above mentioned already about DAB and MLB. WN seems all about network building via hubs (I know, they d...Jump to post

MIA-DSM, was supposed to launch in June but cancelled, is there too. And Miami-Dayton is back. This last operated I think around 2007. On what dates? Who is flying this? Republic I assume? Republic. November 7th through April 3rd. Surprised AA is adding Rochester from Miami but still not Buffalo (F...Jump to post
Does anyone know where the list of “wish list” drops the airlines were asked to submit as exemptions to the COVID requirements can be found? Did AA submit a list? If they did, that is a very good place to start.Jump to post

Southwest has added a daily nonstop between STL and PVD. It starts on 7/26 and right now shows ending 8/10. Interesting add with such little notice and for only two weeks.Jump to post
AA ran PVD-DFW from November 2003 through March 2006. The total load factor for that period was 80% which was higher than both BDL (78%) and BOS (75%). Summer loads were Around 85% most months. Loads don’t equal profits but it’s at least interesting data.Jump to post
it would seem like if they are outsourcing, it wouldn't just be domestic stations. It would be some domestic leisure stations or stations flown for political purposes and Latam stations with 1 flight a day. I certainly don't think something like PVD or MSP will be outsourced. PVD is already outsour...Jump to post
Looks like SY is running once weekly MSP-PVD and MCO-PVD from September through November.Jump to post
Tiny glimmers of hope for PVD in 2020: It was posted that B6 might add a 2nd FLL in November. B6 320’s going from 150 seats to 162. DL M88 (149 seats) retirements hopefully provide M90 (157 seats) and 738 (160) on all ATL flights. G4 has added a 3rd PGD for much of the year. G4’s new MYR should do m...Jump to post
I think there's a chance of BOS coming back to AV's network once they sort our their financial issues. From January/2018 to August/2018, when they did 4x flights to BOS, they had an average LF of 87,5%. Not spectacular, but not that bad imo. They even increased to daily flights from September/2018 ...Jump to post

At some point PVD-MIA for AA has to be in the cards.Jump to post
From reading the airline and BOS threads it seems like there are (better?) opportunities in BOS if airlines can get the gates and planes, and there are probably synergies to concentrating their flights in BOS. True to a certain extent but when do the efforts to create synergies turn into loss-makin...Jump to post
PVD-PHL yields are just under twice that of BOS-PHL.Jump to post
The numbers and logic often point to obvious opportunities for MHT and PVD but the airlines have clearly decided to place their eggs in the BOS basket. The rich keep getting richer it seems.Jump to post
With 3 very underutilized airports all approximately 1 hour in each direction (MHT, ORH, and PVD), why on earth would BOS be rebuilt to the tune of billions of dollars and years of construction disturbances? Yes, I’m biased but in the long run, these other airports are excellent for relieving the st...Jump to post
It appears NK also cut JAX-ORD leaving JAX-BWI as it’s only JAX route. It appears both NK and F9 are planning to maintain just a token presence in JAX. Quite odd as some of their routes had pretty decent loads. Same for F9 at PVD. I thought what we had last summer was going to be sort of the base l...Jump to post
Thinking UA might have a misfile or two as ORD-PVD is still showing 3 daily flights in the summer.
Is there a possibility NKS will soon become the top LCC carrier in the near future? Southwest is a good airline, but they’ve somewhat lost some of their touch in my honest opinion. A WN pilot told me to invest in Spirit stock. The biggest U.S. markets not currently served by NK include STL, SLC, SA...Jump to post
