United's terminal (terminal 3) is connected to the international terminal via a walkway behind security. You won't need to re-clear security. It's been a few years since I've made that connection, but just follow the signs. It's not hard to find. I've never flown JetBlue out of SFO, but my guess wo...Jump to post

If there is a possibility of a new Taiwanese carrier to SJC, I would put my money on Starlux. well its going to be a while because they dont get their A350s , if ever, till end 2021! https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/starlux-orders-12-a350-1000s-and-five-a350-900s-300681083.html My point exa...Jump to post
Looking forward to BR 789's in BNE and hopefully increasing to daily. Is it definite for BR to be flying their 789’s here? Had been thinking the 787-10 was the better option According to this link, they did order the 787-10. http://www.boeing.com/commercial/customers/eva-air/eva-airways-finalize-ta...Jump to post
From the article... “The reduced number of aircraft available arising from the maintenance of its Dreamliner fleet” was the primary reason Air China offered for its abrupt cancellation of the service. I would not read too much into that. CA has ~30 A330-200 ( which are used in the SJC route 3-2 tim...Jump to post
It is confirmed that CA has dropped SJC-PVG. https://www.mercurynews.com/2018/07/17/air-china-cuts-flights-between-san-jose-shanghai-apple-google-facebook-amazon-adobe/ From the article... “The reduced number of aircraft available arising from the maintenance of its Dreamliner fleet” was the primar...Jump to post
Exactly. THREE daily flights, but all those people are going to/from SFO, no business people going to the South Bay and Silicon Valley? That’s difficult to believe. Of course there are people on the SFO flight going to various parts of the Bay Area. Why are they not taking the CA flight out of SJC?...Jump to post
Yes, this is very disappointing. Isn’t Shanghai a major tech center? And how many nonstops are there from SFO? We couldn’t pull enough passengers for 3 day a week flights? The writing on the wall was with this flight. They started service with 5 weekly and then 3 weekly and finally 2 weekly. BTW: S...Jump to post
I think Air China's retreat from the SJC-PVG market is quite a blow to SJC, since SJC prided itself on obtaining overseas service. When I was there last time, the passenger count looked pretty dismal...kind of like BA's passenger count at OAK. Maybe HNA might try it and do a better job at it. Yes, ...Jump to post

Hello pals, I was booked on BA's SJC-LHR flight and just got an email from BA that the flight cancelled. They rebooked with one stop in PHX. I checked Google Flights and noticed BA's nonstop SJC-LHR flights are cancelled for 10 continuous days (June 8 until June 18). Why would BA cancel the route f...Jump to post
Consolidating services with a low-cost carrier going to a high cost airport. At least for the next two years, costs will be manageable. Since this is a new City pair, it falls under SFO’s subsidy program. There were significant incentives offered by OAK and accepted by LEVEL for this route. I don't...Jump to post
It kind of makes sense to consolidate services. OAK has been on a roll, even if BA leaves they are still in some very good times. EI 147 from Dublin was being towed into G-91 at SFO and the right wing had contact with a concrete post.

The engine issues have been the speculation. But where did you see that it’s back to daily in July? The reduction is only June Thanks. Are we assuming this is due to the engine issues? Not assuming, they are being canceled due to the RR engine issues. Looks like the canceled half the flight in June...Jump to post

I believe CA flying their only US-PVG flight was to keep HU off the route. Yes, the flight has struggled but Chinese carriers are not know for making big profits and often keep flights as a “reaction” to another carrier. As a side note. LH, for now, is flying SJC-FRA year round and is bookable in t...Jump to post

I don’t get why people are angry at the government. Probably because if the inconsistent enforcement. In Hawaii, the USDA (a federal agency like CBP) has amnesty bins at several airports. If you're bringing in or taking out uncleared fruit, you can toss it in the bin, and they will dispose of it, n...Jump to post
There are no more customs forms when you enter the US Of course there are. Many airports now have customs kiosks, but airlines still regularly distribute the I-94 (Customs Declaration) form. Generally, the only passengers who don't need to complete any forms are those enrolled in Global Entry. Howe...Jump to post

Is this an April fools or no? I was ready to book but I don't see it available for booking
As if SFO is recession proof? No, it is not but all you have to do is look after 9/11. Air Carriers retreated from OAK and SJC back to SFO for their Bay Area operations. If an event happens that causes a drop in air travel, you can bet the flights that get cut first will be from SJC and OAK before ...Jump to post
Look at the international growth at OAK and San Jose—something you did not see coming so do not get too smug I’m not being smug dude, just pointing out that these silly threads pop up every time SFO goes into flow control. My question is why are we always saying the same stuff over and over again regarding runways and delays due to weather. As a regional pilot, I dreaded flying to SFO due to the day after day of delay programs. Must be even worse for passengers. Thankfully with my current job have not touched SFO for a few years now. Both OAK and SJC are so much better options operationally for Bay Area. Serious, everyone should avoid...Jump to post
Just to address the comments about gate space at SFO. VX and now AS currently have ~ 12 Gates (spots) to park their aircraft. It was always the intent that when T1 gets finished, VX would take over T2 with 15-16 Gates. With these Gates, they could run 130-150 daily flights. It was not VX and now AS ...Jump to post
Would the AS arrivals from Mexico still have to go the international terminal since T2 doesn't have FIS? Are there any plans for a FIS facility at T2? Pretty obvious if they bring back the Mexico flight it would be cleared at the International Terminal. The aircraft could be tugged over to T2 for d...Jump to post
