So, now that things are quieter here in DFW and DL has been flying a decent amount of A220s in, I have noticed some odd noises when planes are landing. I live between 17C and 17R about 5-6 miles north of DFW. It's an odd, loud, somewhat high pitched noise as the plane passes over the house. When I l...Jump to post
Here’s a nice update on AA’s deliveries this year: https://simpleflying.com/american-airlines-new-plane-cost/ Good article about the fact of the deliveries but bad analysis. AA's 22 MAX aircraft MAY not be delivered because AA said it won't take delivery of any MAX until it is re-certified by the F...Jump to post
Since (generally speaking and under normal operations) the choice to depart on the east side vs west side is based on the destination (east side for departures going eastbound and west side for west bound departures) -- wouldn't the fact that most of DFW's destinations are eastbound be the reason t...Jump to post
Nothing to do with capacity or terminals on the east side. It's the FAA and COVID: https://www.dfwairport.com/aircraftnoise/?fbclid=IwAR1SfRo_R8_9zvJrBCPGKEyhRA-soShVEjr5faVUEah4pK1utuBRAijqeVg The FAA has advised DFW Airport it is taking steps nationally to ensure the health and safety of employees...Jump to post
Time to think about a third commercial airport in the area? Somewhere near Fort Worth since Dallas already has Love? FTW is already available. Pre-covid Breeze was likely. If the city invested they could possible draw some ULCC also, but before Breeze were not willing to since Mesa left. Part of th...Jump to post
I was at PHL a few weeks ago - at 7am and hungover. Got randomly put into the body scanner from Pre-Check line. It set off around the groin area. The TSA guy was very touchy - put his hands between my underwear elastic and body and worked all the way around. And of course, ran the back of his hand o...Jump to post

I wonder if they will actually have a ‘terminal’ with check in, baggage claim, etc. or will it be a ‘concourse’ connected to D.Jump to post
Question regarding the new AA/AS partnership... will AA still move out of Terminal 2 into the new Terminal 1 gates? Was AA's original consolidation to T1 because Alaska needed all T2 gates? I assumed that ship has sailed. My understanding is that UA will likely get some of the T2 gates given how hi...Jump to post
On the Tell Me Why podcast, Vasu said that BLR is the #1 destination that they see for AA travelers. Also, the only city in the US that the 789 can fly without decent payload restrictions is SEA. So, this works for them. He also said that you will see incremental international growth from SEA and LA...Jump to post
A couple of updates for the B738 fleet. If someone is able to confirm these, that would be much appreciated: - N979AN is currently in TUL for the Oasis mod but it will be the first 737 with the additional changes to First Class which were announced several months back. N955NN is also in TUL for thi...Jump to post

I have been having the same issue for the past week. Loading strange pages (URL shows powerrangers). Also have seen the same as TSS Above (Flash, Norton, etc). This happens sometimes before I click on a thread. The main aviation forum page loads, and then it autoloads a different site.Jump to post
Looking at 8LP, 789, from my flight, and I see a red line on the front landing gear. I thought the red line meant off warranty. It's that still the case? Are you referring to a vertical up and down red line? That has nothing to do with warranty, that is a guide for the turn limits for push back pur...Jump to post
On the LAA side there's 467 mainline narrowbodies (491 if you include grounded 737 MAX): 32x A319 98x A321 9x A321neo 304x 737 24x 737 MAX 24x 757 In 1998, AA had 509 mainline narrowbodies: 260x MD-80 96x 757 78x 727 75x F100 The E175 does the job of the 75x MD-80, and AA has 231 of those in total....Jump to post

Looking at a map, Santa Lucia is very far away from the city center (looks like almost an hour). That is going to be a pain. Depending on time of day, I've gone from the Zona Rosa area to MEX in 15 minutes.Jump to post
N162UW ferried to GSO on Monday for Oasis mods. 2nd A321 in for mods. Due back in service September 17. Good. I hope they manage to do more than 50 A321 this coming winter. At their current rate, that would not be possible. However, if they opened up multiple modification lines in a number of facil...Jump to post
EWR Terminal C would be a huge win for CLEAR. But they are so short on space already, i cant imagine where there is room. Visit terminal C the day after a snowstorm has cleared pretty much every inch of space is needed for the insane lines. CLEAR would be need some decent real estate that im not su...Jump to post
Didn't AA started this with the merger with US, and it wasn't it one of the first customer-facing changes? FEBO ended at the same time, if I remember correctly. You are correct. Pre-merger AA had odd numbered flights going one direction and even the other direction. They didn't have the same flight...Jump to post

I thought there was also DFW-MUC, DFW-CDG on Delta back in the day, but I could be wrong. It was June/July timeframe in 2005 when the hub closed. Went from 250-260 daily flights to about 20. DL had all of Terminal E and the Satellite, then down to 4 gates. E was a literal ghost town for a few years...Jump to post
Anyone know the loads on the IAH-ACA flights? UA was the only American carrier still flying to ACA after all the violence started. AA must have seen that it was worth it.Jump to post
