Actually ARC does have a G3 with it, operated along with the 707's by the IAF. They used to be parked at Palam earlier. Might be on a routine maintenance flight.

MEL, The helicopters which were got in for this purpose were the Mi 24/35 . This one was indeed a good and efficient alternate to the <acronym title="Air Algérie (Algeria)">AH</acronym> 64 . the biggest advantage it was that it could also carry 6 troops or be converted into a medevac unit. Regards

The Hawk 100's were primarily designed as trainers and are all two seaters irrespective of what they are used for. The hawk 200's were designed for attack and these are available in a single seater model.

Also my own thinking would suggest the Mi 17 over the Mi 8 . The Mi 17 can haul more and is equally capable as an attack helicopter. Btw when do we get a copy of the Aircrafts of the Alaskan Air Defence forces.
