According to https://www.planespotters.net/airframe/McDonnell-Douglas/MD-11/N526FE-Federal-Express/43NnsONQ this MD-11 was sold by DL to FX in 2004, it's very possible NASA and FX did this testing before she was converted to freight. That would explain the comments about no interior furnishings. And...Jump to post
There are some legs to this story: AA1276, a B752 diverted to LIT on 6/16 arriving at 1728L, operated by N191AN. This aircraft left LIT on 6/17 at 2144L completing the flight to DFW. What actually transpired in those 28 hours is anyone's guess.
Looking into the crystal ball, I think NSA will come sooner rather than later and I'd bet B is pretty far along with its definition if not the basic design. An NSA replacement for the 738 will likely be the smallest member of the family and I agree that the WN model can certainly use a sub 150 seat ...Jump to post

Planespotters.net is reporting that LN340 (1990 build) has been purchased by CAM. Former Gulf Air and Delta bird, last SDR from 2017 showed 113336 hours and 21220 cycles. Currently at SBD since March 2018. Any ideas about what they will do with this old girl?Jump to post
Part of the business case will be the decision of where will the 797 be built. I think it's likely that Boeing is already engaged in talks for tax breaks, construction and land discounts, as well as job creation incentives with some strong non-disclosure agreements in place. That will be a huge driv...Jump to post
I found it interesting that ATSG is in the process of acquiring Omni. The main advantage I see with the deal is ATSG gains an operating certificate for the 777 as Omni has operated a small fleet for several years. I'm curious what the possibilities are that Amazon could purchase then sublease to ATS...Jump to post

And it's WN specific page is here: https://www.planespotters.net/airline/S ... t-Airlines
You can examine the WN fleet past, present, and future in great detail! And just about every other airline on the planet as well.
They did add space bins as an option a couple years ago.

Apologies if someone has answered this question before.... Will the Max10 fuselages be transported by rail in one piece or is it too long now? It shouldn't be an issue. The fuselages are secured to the railcar under the cockpit and under the wing box, the tail section hangs over an empty flatbed ca...Jump to post
If the US major airlines really needed the new E2 or MRJ they would make a deal with the mainline pilots. And without a doubt, such a deal would very heavily favor the pilots. With most of the large RJ's being fairly new, there is no hurry to make such a deal. Also, the pilot shortage issue comes in...Jump to post

I've had some good takeoffs on the 757 like many others. My two most memorable were both TUL-DFW flights, first about 8-9 years ago was a 772 sub for a 752. Was a rocketship with a decent passenger load but not much fuel. The other was this past summer, a 763 sub for a 738, the bird from DFW went in...Jump to post

Don't forget the same airport planners that accepted the train system also accepted the high tech failure of a baggage system!
Let's face it MOM won't be available until 2025 at best, there are a bunch of old 767 that need to be replaced before then. Replace the retiring frames with new build as necessary, no new training program, no new maintenance program, no new simulators, no new parts inventory, the list goes on. Don't...Jump to post

This was touched on earlier in the thread, was AA gains by switching to 787 for most of Europe is a huge gain in cargo capacity. From this site: http://www.anacargo.jp/en/int/service/aircraft/b787_8_1.html The 788 can hold up to 28 LD3 cans or up to 9 88" pallets (8 96"), with 97390 pounds...Jump to post
And what happens if a family of four is top of the standby list but only one or two seats is available? Either split the family or they wait for the next flight. That accounts for some of the 20,000. And how many weren't in the gate area when called?Jump to post
Looks like potentially a good spot for G4 if the runway extension is ever completed.Jump to post

I'm going out on a limb here. Two things, weather at IAH looks pretty rough at the moment, and flight time to YYZ was 14:23. Normal flight DXB-IAH is just under 16 hours. I'm guessing YYZ was selected as a good place to refuel and prep for any holds getting into IAH if the crew can still be legal.Jump to post
