I flew on that bird some 30 years ago when it belonged to Northrup Grumman's predecessor, Westinghouse (thus the "W" in the reg). We flew at a radio tower at Pax River while testing B-1 radar modes.

In April, I took a DHC-3 Turbine Otter Amphibian of Key West Seaplane Adventures from EYW to the Dry Tortugas. The flying was a blast and the snorkeling was pretty good, too.

Brings to mind the ejection seat accident at Willow Grove NAS in 1980. A 7 year old boy who was ejected through the canopy of an S-3 Viking later died of his injuries. Lots of others suffered serious burns. Fortunately, no deaths or injuries in this case.
