Personally I think DE could make another go at PVD and be much more successful now that it (PVD Europe service) is a known entity unlike when they were trying to change hearts and minds over a 12 week summer schedule. in the 5 year timeframe with the right players and assuming the 73% BOS terminal C...Jump to post
The April drop at PVD is sort of an anomaly... F9 added way too much last year that made little sense. WN and D8 were heavily hit by MAX cancellations and G4 was down two markets. The A220 is LARGER than the E190 making their entry-level size aircraft problem worse, not better. Combined with a DL response, places like IND CMH MKE MCI ORF GSP etc are not 400 PDEW markets from BOS, regardless of what the Boston Aviation thread might tell you.... and saying it will be Europe fee...Jump to post
The big problem is the adds from here on out all involve cities where 3x 120-150 seat aircraft is overkill, and especially when up against DL who will fly alongside with E175. Once the E190s are gone Jetblue lacks the proper size aircraft to have business friendly schedules to Places like MKE CMH IN...Jump to post
I did PVD-BGO on a regular 738 and it was no problem, would it have been nicer on a bigger plane? Yes.... did I care as much since I paid $350.... no. The DY example is mixed because some things like BGO made zero sense however larger markets like DUB have shown staying power. So something like STN ...Jump to post

The Rhode Island Dominican population is around 40,00, so if 1% use the flight, that's 4,000 people on 5,600 seats so a 70% load factor right out of the gate
I know that't not how it works but it will help what should be a viable flight demographics aside.
Southern Airways Express is going top launch a few summer seasonal flights from Nantucket this summer. According to their website they will fly PVD/HVN/OWD to ACK ... yes OWD (Norwood), the plane will originate and termite there. The most common sense solution is for Massport to fund MBTA improvements that ehance connectivity to the airport and expand hours of operation. I feel like in Boston area politics that's the equivalent of a Democrat running with a Sarah Palin at their VP, but it can be done. Heck RIDOT bought 5 rail...Jump to post
Accordingly to Suncountry's website PVD-PUJ will start in November... Sat only for the first month then Wed/Sat December through April.
Still surprised no CUN but PUJ is popular for leisure and also some ethnic ties as well.
After looking through the March slides, it shows 50% of TNC trips come from the urban core... I really wish Massport would take come initiative to improve the MBTA connections. I understand its probably a political "hot potato" and messy with each being state agencies but better non-vehicl...Jump to post
PVD announcing new international service tomorrow. Giving the time of year I would guess something Caribbean for winter like a long overdue CUN flight? On the flip side every time I see the NY Jets plane at BOS I think to myself "wow JetBlue, do you even understand Boston?!" AA seems to be way down for all NE airports this summer. PVD-PHL is running 6x, 3 mainline in May but 5x 1 mainline in June. BDL-PHL in June is 5x, 2 of which are 50-seaters, PWM actually has more capacity to DCA than PHL.Jump to post
Logistically there’s not any good space for vip bussing and boarding of 150 +\- people at BOS.Jump to post
BTV-PNS PDEW is so low it doesn't even make it onto the DOT city pairs report. It's hard to see how that would work.
Don’t forget F9 will gladly sell you BTV PNS with a 13 hour overnight layover in DENJump to post
The close in BDL cuts are most definitely related to the MAX considering the flight survived the winter and we are getting into busier seasons. The PVD MSP at 0.9 is interesting because it’s actually an increase from summer levels which is hopefully an indication that SY is doing well especially sin...Jump to post

PWM-DEN is arguably one of the most successful routes Frontier added in 2018. I would imagine F9 won't just give up.
