Looking at 1989 OAG BA was using #214/#215 on LHR/BOS/LHR. An 1980 OAG shows #270/#271 on this rotation. (now for LAS services).

Day Flights to Europe

I wonder if day flights to Europe will come back when air travel returns to "normal". Have enjoyed daylight travel to LHR from ORD,BOS and JFK on L10, 747, 777 for many years, but demand may not warrant such service for quite some time.
Any comments?

Recalling from memory, but Pan Am paid a high price for National, as there was a bidding war with Texas International to control National and Frank Lorenzo walked away with a quick profit on the deal after Pan Am paid the higher per share price.

New York Air started to grow in the NYC area in the mid-1980s, and one new route was EWR/MSY. We were all served a light meal and they served free bottles of Becks Beer. Airfare was quite low as well. EWR/MSY was served 4 times daily by NY, and 1 daily by DL (1985).

PUB seating was "open". and in the 1980s I flew EWR/SFO in C class, then SFO/HNL in F. Such great service in both classes! The best part on the return HNL/EWR that it was non-stop and an AM departure from HNL had a 9PM arrival in EWR. No jet lag!
