Re: Delta develops AUS focus city with expansion

I can sorta figure out the short term game DL can play with MFE (at least in the winter months)-use MSP as a very fat spoke for winter beach traffic down to places like South Padre Island, and anything else you get from O&D traffic and the other spokes is gravy. DL could try doing the same thin...

Re: Delta develops AUS focus city with expansion

Delta's MFE-AUS will be going up against Southwest's HRL-AUS, just 30 minutes down the road. ....I'd give them a 50% (MAF/MFE) chance of performing decently if they were 1-2x daily on an EMB-120 or something. But a CRJ-900? Slim chance. ....Not saying building AUS is a focus city as a bad idea for ...

Re: Gate 131 LAX TBIT

I have a question regarding a gate at the TBIT? Before closing to work on the West Gates/MSC, gate 131 could handle 777s, 787s, etc. Since DL started working on the T3-TBIT connector, the biggest plane gate 131 can take is a B757 (DL uses 131 all the time for its LAX-MEX flight). Now that T3-TBIT i...

Looking at the scan of the chart, one may notice Rwy 6/24 doesn't have an approach lighting system. The City of Los Angeles actually banned arrivals to 6/24 up until 1967/1968, or so. I believe the city finally relented due to traffic volume.
