They had to put a sizable non-refundable deposit down to secure the order so worse off, Boeing gets the deposit and is likely already offering the potential slots to other carriers just in case.

That is an interesting question. I am not aware of any airline that still does. Hopefully there is one left! I still have decks from Eastern and Pan Am from way back in the day. As a kid flying back then, they gave you cards, wings and I recall a pencil with an activity book. Don't have any of those...

What I find most ironic is that the 757 came later than the 737 and yet died earlier. The 737 has been in production over twice as long as the 757 and is still in production. Perhaps the 739 and 73X wouldn't be here today if Boeing had updated the 752 in the late 1990s instead of developing the 753...
