I think much of it has to do with minimal Union meddling in their Business. Management is able to make good decisions for the Airline without having to worry about Unions fighting with them at every turn.

I think of a tax and subsidy as two very different things. A tax is your money that you are forced to pay to the Government. A subsidy is money that was never yours to begin with that someone is giving you to coerce a certain behavior.

I just about bust my gut open laughing when I saw California on that list of States. I guess We do have bragging rights here as being the LEAST business friendly state in the Country. High taxes, Union Friendly, impossible regulations and very high utilities. Just what Boeing is looking for.

Delta has the best service by far so I doubt they all that worried. They just have to keep doing what they are doing now and they will come out on top.
