Could it be that seeing such a manouvere in a passenger aircraft has told our brains that this is dangerous and reckless because we are not used to seeing these planes perform in this manner??

Surely the "extra legroom" issue can be solved with Premuim economy style cabins. <acronym title="British Airways">BA</acronym>'s World traveller + is a god send for me.
