Re: American Airlines could return to Tel Aviv (TLV)?

AA apparently left TLV because they were loosing money on the route. There were several articles of AA member stating about it. Granted majority of the flights were almost full I guess the profitability was there according to them. AA got the authority from the TWA purchase. TWA owed money to the g...

Re: AA markets not served from DFW

Some of the “why isn’t this market served from DFW” questions can be answered by looking at what resources would have to be dedicated to serving the route rather than trying to funnel all or most traffic through a closer hub. Take DFW-MRY, for example. PHX is well-positioned to serve connections to ...

Re: Will UA add nonstop service from SFO to CMH, CLT, ICT, JAX, MKE, SDF, or TUL?

The test for new service for an airline generally needs to include: - Can a nonstop be more profitable than routing through a hub? Can a premium be charged for a nonstop? - Is equipment available or coming soon to operate it? - Is equipment better used on a nonstop versus on another route? - Can the...

A couple of years back US had planned to launch both CLT-SNA and PHL-SNA with a 757. I believe they planned an evening CLT departure and a red-eye return while running a PHL morning departure and an afternoon return. I don't know what came of it, but I am assuming they just never got the slots. I b...

Given that there is relatively little Skyteam international presence at PHL, it is certain that DL will add domestic flights and may justify adding further international flights from PHL to offset pulling down PHL-LHR. That is far from "certain." At this point, the only major Delta statio...

From ORD, with both CX and UA on the route already, and needing to commit two widebodies (likely 787 or 77W) to operate a daily schedule on a long - and therefore higher cost - route, AA would need to think there was still significant untapped opportunity. I just think AA can probably find higher ma...

I'm surprised they wouldn't send it to do the red-eye turn to LAX -- I'd figure the eastbound J seats might sell well.
