Not sure exactly what would have been better than what they planned and did. The grey is much more visually appealing and will show less ware and tear than the ugly beige and red strip motif.

Primary reason the large carriers fly to small markets is to capture the customers before they drive to a larger airport that has more competition. AA, UA, and DL all do this.
