Changing your ticket to avoid the short connection doesn't make sense unless you can get an earlier arrival into DTW.

If you miss the 0900 LHR departure AC will get you on any of their 3 evening departures, so changing the long leg will not get you anywhere

TP is wisely focusing on growth to NorthAm, Brazil and West Africa which are their natural long haul markets.

A319LR's and A300NEO's underpin that strategy.

Having retained the UA brand doesn't mean CO's culture is not a factor in the current UA.

From a customer standpoint If they would've not merged we'd have more competition within the legacies (US4) and who knows whtether UA would've been able to stay in the right financial shape on that environment.

I think that regulators, aviation authorities and airlines across the globe need to be more strict on seatbelts. I don't how to enforce that, but that's how I see it. According to my experience, EW Smart fare is normally no more than 20-30 EUR when compared to the Basic fare. Smart fare gives you a 23 kg checked bag, seat selection and even a free snack. OTOH, EW basic fare is normally more expensive than FR/EZ/W6 bottom fares when they compete on the same route....

If you fly EW often you'd realize they are not what one would call a "true" LCC. Unlike FR, EZ, W6, WN they don't charge for things such as checked luggage, seat selection, priority boarding, etc. Also their fares are far from being low cost, I'm a regular on a two-hour segment out of DUS ...

An AA FF gets the miles/points on any OW operated flight regardless of the code he books.

Normally you can book a flight on all the codes it has, suggest to try a booking engine for yourself and confirm.

European and Asian markets were not ready for NB long-haul back in the days.

DC10's, 747's and early 777's ruled asian and euro skies in the late 90's. Even today you still see a good amount of WB's on asian regional routes.

Well, highlight here is IB going daily and subsequent increase in overall capacity. Both A332 and A359 are quite high density when compared with other euro legacies.

Having said that, A359 enables them to offer W.

Surprised they don't do BA does and fly the A380 to YVR seasonally. European flights to YVR are FULL in the summer. Or maybe they want something year round? There is a summer seasonal flight to YVR from MUC. This year served by a mix of A346 and A359. I think YVR could at least handle a 748. LHs 74...

By going daily on the 787, my rough calculations say QF are adding capacity from 1456 passengers/week to 1652 passengers/week.
