My Latest Trip To Vegas

I don't have any aspirations of getting shots uploaded here but I wanted to share some shots from my Veterans Day weekend trip to Las Vegas and the Aviation Nation airshow. I just got my DSLR and am still learning so any feedback is appreciated. <table BORDER=0 width=2 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 ST...

RE: Continental 1713- 20 Years Later

I was 14 and watching football with my parents at our house just outside of Denver. It was a time before instant news, but if I recall right they did interrupt the game for breaking news. My church youth group leader was a mechanic for Continental at the time and was called in to help with the recov...

RE: Aviation Nation 2007 Schedule Published...

I just realized that I will be in Vegas this weekend. It's my wifes b-day and our anniversary so we are going to Vegas.

Any tips or insider info from any Vegas locals or those who have gone in years past?

I'm also a Denver area enthusiast. I also live near APA but fly from BJC, go figure. Thanks everyone for the input. Seems I uncovered a rather spirited topic . I had no idea that would happen but discussion and debate is always good. I think the answer to my original question is that more than likely I flew on all ...

Diff Between Black And Red Meatball

This may be a dumb question but I would like to know what the difference/significance of the black vs red meatball on the old Continental Airlines paint scheme. I am collecting 1/400 models of the airlines I rode on as a kid and I am not sure if I should be looking for the red or black meatball plan...

RE: Dead Leg Pilots And FA's In First Class?

I thought I read somewhere that a pilot who is flying company aircraft to their next flight then they rode in first class. I think that is a good policy because a pilot who is getting off the flight only to pilot one right after deserves to get there in relative comfort rather than the cramped cattl...

Hi all, I am new to A.net and live in Colorado. Good to see there are other enthusiasts in the area. I saw the Q400 on Sunday at Jeffco when I returned from Vegas. Have to admit both me and my buddy were wondering what it was and what it was doing at <acronym title="Denver (Broomfield) - Jeffco (BJC...

It was typically 100 by 9am and while I was there the temp topped out at 115. If you ask me though I am not sure you can feel a difference between say 102 and 115.

The poker room at the Mirage on the other hand was a comfortable 68 degrees so you can guess where I was most of the time LOL

Den-LAS-Den, First TP With Pics

While I was anxious to participate in this forum and file a trip report from my recent trip to Vegas, I realize that from Denver, Las Vegas is a mere 1 hour and 20 minute flight. This does not leave much to report on. So I decided to use this trip report to focus on the significant difference betwee...

I had a set of the Bose, but sold them and went back to my trusty David Clark. The thing I did not like about the Bose was that the ANR was so good that I could not hear the subtle changes and sounds from the engine. RE: Should I Buy A Pentax K100D

I have the K10D because I wanted the increased megapixels, but I looked long and hard at the K100D. I liked the shake reduction built into the camera vs the lens and the price can't be beat. Canon and Nikon are nice and have lots of accessories but IMHO you have to spend significantly more to get th...

Help Findng A Photo From Denver, CO

Years ago I worked part time for United and bought an 8x10 photo of a United 747-400 (old colors) crossing Interstate 70 at the old Stapleton Airport in Denver. I have since misplaced the photo and would really like to locate another copy. Has anyone out there seen this photo or have a copy? I belie...
