Im surprised no talk of Cabo Verde airlines getting some. Doesnt Icelandair own the majority of the company/their 757s?Jump to post
This reminds me of Avatar Airlines, who wanted to buy 30 747-8is from Boeing. Looks like the Department of Transportation dismissed Avatar's application for an air transportation certificate back in September 2017 on the basis of lack of documentation: https://downloads.regulations.gov/DOT-OST-2008...Jump to post
So, as a guy that started a 380 with stock there is a HUGE issue that will / could land them in jail. There are several type of Regulation D offerings (504s and 506s). 504s dont let you raise more than $1M in 12 months (the reason mine shut down) as cash flow as tight...but you can sell to anyone. 5...Jump to post
I may be completely wrong on this, but I think the aircraft choice on interisland flights has more to consider than just performance. I vaguely remember reading somewhere (hell maybe I even made it up) that the choice for HA on interisland has a lot to do with engines and having an aircraft that can...Jump to post
In the 80s Disney was almost bankrupt, including their parks, so they had to focus on partnerships and use every marketing trick they could to survive. It was not until Michael Eisner arrived did they start turning around. Now they are the primary reason people go to Orlando and Orlando's passenger ...Jump to post
Delta has said that that A220s are MD-88 replacements as well as to grow the fleet.
The 717s will likely be around for awhile and yes they came from Southwest
A regional Jet is generally anything smaller than the original 737, DC9 with similar or shorter range, as alternatives to turbo props. The Fokker and BAe 146 were early RJs. The sub-category of 50-seat RJ was developed for scope clause reasons in the US and were more popular here, while the bigger ...Jump to post

He has been fundraising for quite a while. I remember seeing his promo video over a year ago. The plan is go go J31 to 737 to larger narrowbodies...if I am not mistaken. His original videos did not use the term Sharia, it was spun as an anti no frills airline (but not full service). Essentially a co...Jump to post
By proving there were frames with EI registrations you are not helping my case. Ha haJump to post
My father and I were talking about Ryan Holdings and I had to explain to him that was not O’Learys Ryanair. He then proceeded to ask who owned the Air Tran registered planes with an EI registration. To my knowledge they had Valujet registrations (though never flew the MD-80s), used Ryan Holding A320...Jump to post
I may be wrong, but I think timing played a key role too. I believe the A380 is only able to fly the distances that it does, because of components and engines that were far from existence at the time that the MD12 was considered. The A380 even with its composites had to spend a significant amount of...Jump to post
Delta has facilities all over the country and could stop hiring in ATL and hire in other locations without blinking an eye. I agree very short sighted, and I bet cities like CVG would gladly give Delta incentives. Every airline is going to go where incentives are. That's easier said than done consi...Jump to post

I have a letter that the sent to Air Azul (not Neeleman's Azul) but a company that was starting in the US back in 2012/2013. WIthin it their attorneys state that their success and name entitles them to own all things BLUE (Azul means Blue) within the US's Aviation community. Not sure how far this go...Jump to post
One thing I would add. I used to fly Flair to/from the oil fields for work and they do a pretty good job. Assuming that O&G workers represent a decent portion of the market they are targeting(Particularly with expendable income) they already have brand awareness. I think anyone that use to go to...Jump to post
This company has to be the most unlucky carrier in the world. If I am not mistaken this happened to most of their fleet about 5 years ago too.Jump to post
They are heavily used by the locals. Every time I have flown them the FAs know many of the passengers by name. I do miss their Dash 8s and think the changing of AC type (2 changes) had to impact their books. I really enjoy their service, but those increased costs and the adding of Ohana had to have ...Jump to post
ACMI likely is more expensive than the total revenue they collect for their flights. Just my guess. Its probably cheaper to cancel flights and pay the fines I saw in an article yesterday than to charter and ACMI which has the airline operating the ACMI's margin in there. Remember the hourly cost of ...Jump to post
The selling of the tickets are sold as a Part 380 Operator. It is governed by the DOT and not the FAA as the FAA has authority over the carrier you contract out for flights. Complete details can be found on the USDOT site under Part 380. They are right, as there are very specific rules you have to f...Jump to post

To clarify, it wont go into effect (per earlier memo prior to ruling) per the White House.Jump to post
Anyone know who the new carrier they are announcing for ATW is? As far as plane type the NFL requires at least a 76 so all Delta NFL charters are either a 767, 777 or A330 Unless this is a recent requirement I don't think its true. The Steelers rarely take a widebody, typically they use a 757 or A321. I don't think you are correct. Is there a way we can lookup ...Jump to post

I feel like I should know the answer to this question, but I dont. Flair Air just needs to subsidize flights until oil turns around. I used to fly on their planes within the Shell and other networks out of Calgary, which I assume is their normal revenue stream.Jump to post
It is a great presentation.
It is unfortunate that the cost of oil is down, as investors in cities like Fort St. John, Fort McMurray, Peace River may have an interest in this concept. There are reasons why Shell and others have full service terminals at the major airports.
