It isn't completely crazy. MartinAir at one time ran an AMS - IAH- AMS service for KLM (it was the only flight I could not get DL mile credit on). They ran an all J service on a 737. I could see DL doing something similar for high J routes (JFK-LHR, CDG, AMS, that kind of thing). It might be a way t...Jump to post
MEM is also having major construction work done. At least here, nothing has been reported about stopping the work. FWIW, the pax section of MEM will be much smaller than it once was. With the draw down of DL flights, I am sure the terminal will still be rather space generous for some time.Jump to post
DL 9964, MD88, registration N999DN, showing ATL- BHY. Looks like the last revenue flight had been DL 985 RDU - ATL on April 3. Looks like it had been scheduled (and flights cancelled) on April 3 ATL-PIT (DL 371) and ATL - OMA (DL 871). FLightrader24 does not show any future flights for this plane.Jump to post
FWIW, per the DL website on March 10, the following regions are seeing these reductions: Pacific down 65%, Trans-Atlantic down 15 -20%, domestic down 10-15%, Latin [America?] down 5%. The following are posted reductions in service: SOUTH KOREA • Service between Minneapolis/St. Paul and Seoul-Incheon...Jump to post
I will be interested to see what flights are cut (or reduced capacity) and for how long. I see that international travel is to be cut by 20%. Considering Israel is going to impose a 14 day quarantine for everyone coming in, I suspect that route might well be suspended (since I would guess most trave...Jump to post
dstblj52 wrote:But then the animal would end up in the hold, and if you read what people say about that I don't think dropping the charge 50 or 75 dollars is going to change that reaction.
This is a great change. The reality is that aircraft are not designed for animals in the passenger cabin. In the case of service dogs (such as guide dogs) or psychiatric animals, which are trained animals, this will not be a problem. I also am probably in the minority in suggesting as well that no a...Jump to post
So as we all know the 737 MAX is grounded world wide. And of course that has created havoc for carriers that fly the MAX. But what effects have others seen for other carriers? I noticed that DL is now flying some flight numbers as 8xxx because they are flying routes AM would normally fly with a Max ...Jump to post
My question - how did the gate agent who let her down the jetway not notice? There had to be multiple people who failed in this instance. I can understand not notifying the pilots- UA doesn't have the best reputation, no one wants to be charged with 'interfering with flight crew.'Jump to post
To a degree. Its also to an extent an ADA issue. Certain ailments, like alcoholism, can under certain circumstances be treated as a disability. A lot depends upon the diagnosis and how far the doctors and lawyers are willing to go, but in some cases it may be against the law to fire a diagnosed alc...Jump to post
Per AirlineRoute.net frequency reduced to 5x weekly https://www.routesonline.com/news/38/airlineroute/284971/delta-1h20-mumbai-frequency-variations/ Will it even start? UA just cancelled. I do wonder what will happen with the tensions rising in Iran. I cannot imagine this is a place or time that an...Jump to post
Last year when multiple airlines changed policies for emotional support animals (it was discussed on his board in March, May, June, and Nov 2018) I was among many who said support animals need to be treated like pets in the cabin (in a carrier, under the seat, etc). I said then - there was going to ...Jump to post
I hope this is the right forum. If not - moderators, please move it for me. As I understand the rule, the sterile cockpit rule comes into effect at about 10K feet. How is that rule adapted for high altitude airports (I'm thinking like La Paz where you're already at 13K or Mexico City, where you're a...Jump to post
Seatguru would seem to suggest you are getting an 'angled' flat seat. The link is here
https://seatguru.com/airlines/Air_Franc ... -300_E.php
I do wonder - would you get 1 FA for the cabin? Or two? It wouldn't be too bad for a day flight. And at least there is a dedicated lav.
KL 602 now showing ETD/ETA 1905 - 1420 (schedule had been 1350 - 905). Still showing a mixed combo. The outbound KL 601 now departing 1729.Jump to post
DL website is showing DL 9374 (KL operated) as cancelled. However. DL 8816 is showing the same ETD/ETA (1650 - 2025) on 767-300. If you prefer flightradar24, however, the flight is shown to be operated by an A330, ship N810NW.Jump to post
AMS - LAX shows "awaiting take off" on DL site. KLM just shows KL 601 the arrival and departure at the same time.....I'm guessing they have not updated the system yet to show a delay?....They are showing KL 621 (AMS- ATL) as cancelled.Jump to post
Also empty buildings become security and insurance liability that is unnecessary. If the area is clear, you can see who (or what) is there much more easily. And should you want to expand, you have some clear space.Jump to post
So apparently DL 1052 had a problem with the right engine today, problem happened during take off, according to pax in the DL club with me. New departure is 845 pm (they have having to fly a plane into MKE to rescue the folk who are now seriously delayed). Anyone know what was the problem?Jump to post
O. Henry said "The clothes make the man." He was right. I am glad UA is taking this step. Once you go to work for a company in a public position, you are not on your own time when you show up for work. You are the public face of the company. If you don't like that, get a different job.Jump to post
So they tried it for one day today. Maybe they will try something similar in another airport. Sure it was good marketing and worth a google hit. Maybe it it catches with customers, they will do it again. Bravo.Jump to post
I am glad UA is taking this action. In fact, the FA is a front person for their company. Most people will not deal with the corporate office. They see who is in the airport and plane. And as O. Henry said, clothes make the [person.] I have not flown AA in years. No comment. Haven't flown SW in years...Jump to post
Punched anyone? Really? on landing? I do not know where to go.
Civil aviation- if it on a plane, its discussed.
I am all about TRAINED service dogs. I am just. sad.
I believe it is FAA policy that only an FA can serve alcohol aboard the flight. While perhaps his heart was in the right place, what he did was dumb. Especially after he was told NO by the FA. If it was that big a deal, could he not simply have bought them something during the regular drink run?Jump to post
It depends how fast you get out of customs. I had a colleague arrive IB ex-MAD. He is an EU citizen. It took in excess of 3 hrs to clear immigration. Many pax on that flight (AA, IB, others) both US citizens and non citizens missed flights. AA is good about rebooking in those cases. To be fair, I th...Jump to post
I've had trouble figuring out what Delta's real rule is about serving meals in F. They claim it's by distance, I've heard also it depends on the time of the day... but I've definitely been on flights where everyone was surprised there's no food. And yeah, I'm someone who is likely to fly EWR-ATL-HN...Jump to post
Many are quick to point out DL doing Y meals. But the free meals are only on JFK-LAX/SFO/PDX/SEA/HNL, DCA-LAX, SEA-BOS/RDU/MCO/FLL, BOS-SFO/LAX, ATL/MSP-HNL. In other words, only main transcontinental routes. That said, at least it is something and an improvement. At least I've generally noticed whi...Jump to post
This is another one where it would be interesting to read the final report. Reply #20 said that there are not always marshallers at WN planes. Is that unusual? I often notice on DL flights they have one to block traffic and one to walk the plane all the way out. Is that not the norm for every airline?Jump to post
I agree that there need to be more stringent guidelines, however, I still maintain that one should not condemn one's means of coping unless you have walked a mile in their shoes. As for children wanting to pet the dog, is there any reason why the parents of the child cannot tell the child "no?...Jump to post
FriscoHeavy, have you experienced debilitating anxiety? Drugs aren't *always* the answer. I know. I've been there. Until there are more stringent standards for "emotional support animals", I agree that they simply don't belong in the cabin. With trained service animals (seeing eye dogs), ...Jump to post
Another thing to think about is how the fleet of the US 3 is used. A plane that goes DTW-ATL could turn and go ATL-ELP, ATL-ABQ. As a result, to have some planes with F and some without would be an unnecessary complication. Also, F seats are a great 'perk' for FF.Jump to post
Commercial imports of fruits are dealt with the same way. In fact, commercial imports of fruit are fairly well regulated; if you want to move a bushel of fruit from, say, Australia to the US, the process is as follows: 1. Advance notification by the importer by filing a Prior Notice (PN) with the F...Jump to post
