Disney inherited the Queen Mary lease with it's take over of the Wrather Corporation which they bought primarily to get control of the Disneyland Hotel. They made a go of it for sure, but once the plans for "Port Disney" fell through they quickly bailed on the lease, without the additional...Jump to post
We have just moved into a new home and I am noticing a number of spots in the house where the current routers wifi signal is just not providing coverage. I fell down the YouTube/Amazon rabbit hole last night on the subject of Mesh systems and am now more undecided than before. I am thinking the Eero...Jump to post
be more viable since more people would want to travel to New York than Philadelphia. Thanks 99% of passengers don't care where they change planes. If you fly frequently (or even semi-frequently) you do. But this might have some validity. I am always dumbfounded by the amount of wrong way connection...Jump to post

And... there you have the key problem with this business plan. Yes, there is demand for premium economy transatlantic (at least, in non-pandemic times) but not ~200 seats' worth daily to PRG or DBV. You might be able to get that amount of demand to LHR/CDG/FRA/AMS but on a single flight that really...Jump to post

Amazing that it took over an hour for the local fire fighting tugs to show up.... No, it said it took them an hour to get it under control, not that it took them an hour to show up. Thank you for correcting me, I miss heard that and am clearly wrong. Those balconies above took a beating, in normal ...Jump to post
Seems an MSC cruise ship has gone on fire in Corfu . https://i.ibb.co/K6p3xq2/12163154-47-C6-4209-A917-D38068-EAE2-A6.jpg MS Lirica, 59.000 GRT. Seems to be a very massive fire on the boat deck. However, it is under control now. I wonder if its worth repairing in this climate. Only 17 years old, ye...Jump to post
Okay catii so, clearly, we know where your focus(foci) lies(lie). You. however, don't speak for the rest of the flight officer group. Why who do you fly for that you’re speaking for “the flight officer group?” Facts are facts. No one is voluntarily giving up being a wide body captain to be a narrow...Jump to post
It's actually pretty simple, Texas passed this law, the companies that don't want to follow it deny access to their sites for any IP addresses in that state.
Then Texans can scream and cry that they are being treated unfairly by the big bad social media companies.
Done! One piece of feedback: I don't know if it's too late to change the survey now or if this is a difference in British vs American surveys, but most of the surveys I have done, the more you agree with something, the more "points" it is worth. So strongly agree would be = 10 and strongl...Jump to post

I can understand wanting to lose the Mccarran name due to the racist and anti sematic background, but honestly, they should have gone for a neutral name like Las Vegas International.
Harry has done a lot for Las Vegas and Nevada, but something neutral would be better.

I was never a fan of the walled-up, or herring bone seats and this one is no different. As for the routes, putting it on tcon routes makes perfect sense as those are heavy on business travel but on the leisure routes to the Caribbean, I'm not too sure about. British Airways also dropped Detroit-London. Not because of lack of demand but because they couldn't compete with Northwest when it was grated access to Heathrow. That's stretching the facts a little, they didn't even bother trying to compete, the market just isn't large enough ex UK to have two ai...Jump to post
Aren't many of the casinos closed during the week? Not to mention zero trade shows. I guess at some point some flights are just losing too much money and something has to give. Others than maybe a few VFFs what would be the big attraction other than a dirt cheap fare to build miles. Even the EQDs w...Jump to post
What does Spirit flying transatlantic have to do with airlines that only fly intra-Europe? Every action triggers a reaction. If an American ULCC opens TATL routes to European airports (where the European LCCs have their customer base), no doubt those European LCCs will react by opening TATL routes ...Jump to post
I'm in the Dominican Republic right now so I couldn't even begin to guess the size of the system, all I can tell you is that in Nevada back in 2012 we were allowed to have a system that covered 90% of our average useage. I would hazard a guess that is a brain fart rather than thinking this thought has anything to do with NZ. We have Tesla, we actually got it back in the Solar City days. Like Doc we leased ours for 20 years, they deal with any issues. Our power bill went from over $300 a month to $14 (connection fee etc) to the local power company and $80 a month to Tesla. So far zero issues, for us it was a no brainer, ...Jump to post
Isom and Parker, US airways alum, the airline that charged for water. They still have the US mind set. I don't have that kind of set up. When exploring upgrades for the Bose system I had I came to the same conclusion as you, I couldn't put speakers in my ceiling and I didn't want wires running everywhere, so I ended up going for a Samsung HW-Q90r system, it also helped that Best Buy had it at just ov...Jump to post

A friend of mine just flew his last flight today.
42 years as a pilot, just over 28,000 hours, just under 12 million miles flown.
It feels more likely than some of the other ships you've suggested. It's one of a kind and it's opulent, but it isn't the historical relic of a bygone age as QM or even QE2 which does reduce potential interest as a museum ship. I just have to ask, have you been on the QM2? The regular cabins are ok...Jump to post

I have to agree with most here, the wood on the walls is a little to much, but the seat looks nice.
