2. EI recently announced the order for 7 A321LR. However does this not seem a bit low? It would directly replace the 4 757 - however it would only leave 3 remaining. I would imagine the daytime flight to JFK would be on the list to return. But what other routes could we seen opening. I thought the ...Jump to post

No more Frankfurt Hahn? Sure they'll stay at Hahn too, this is just additional. Ryanair likes to play. Also, wouldn't it be way too risky for Transavia to challenge the Lufthansa Group at their main hub? What if LH responds by adding Eurowings/Germanwings flights from AMS or CDG? I don't think so, ...Jump to post
So happy to finnaly see that they announced it! One strange thing though is that they didn't announce BGO even though they apllied for it. Could it be that they will announce it at a later stage? Another thing is that the aircraft will stay quite a long time on the ground in Ireland. Could it be th...Jump to post

"Norwegian’s Irish services will be Stewart’s only European flights when they launch next summer."
So... no flights from Stewart to EDI or MAN despite all the speculation.
I not disparaging of Dublin and the excellent Aer Lingus experience or the facts that for fifty years EI201/202 have connected into IN110/111 or EI104/105 today. As for the Tax issue bluntly there are people in the UK buying tickets to Dublin on one docket or using Ryanair then self connecting to t...Jump to post
They didn't get off to the best start with aircraft issues last summer, but WestJet launched flights between Canada and London (a market that already has a lot of capacity). There are other low cost carriers that are making the leap into long haul. Time will tell, of course, whether it's sustainabl...Jump to post

Not sure if this was posted anywhere else on the forum, but last week Air Transat announced it was adding YUL-TLV flights from June-October 2017, making TS the only airline to offer direct service between those two points (though by far not the first time such a route existed). The route is also av...Jump to post
I saw an article on my FB yesterday and Aer Lingus more less said they don't give a sh*t about people moaning over downgrades etc. I can't remember who published it but if I see it again will post a link or if somebody else saw it please do. Thanks to a 11.4% YOY growth, it looks like Dublin will be the 16th busiest European Airport for 2016 in terms of pax, putting it ahead of Zürich Airport for the first time which is pretty impressive. For the last two or three years Swiss has operated a Summer Saturday afternoon Dash 8 flight GVA-LHR, I presume so they can use the displaced A320 on holiday routes, as business demand is low on Saturdays. No other props have been scheduled at LHR for years, probably since KLM Fokker 50s to RTM. Al...Jump to post
WOW have DUB-KEF increased from 5 weekly to daily beginning 28 October 2017. Notice ORK-KEF showing at x3 weekly from 1 October. Wonder if it will be workable year round. Didn't EI operate a longhaul flight from Spain to IAD in the past? I remember that they had something for a couple of years. If this is true I bet that this could help them a bit too. They did and it wasn't succesful, so they quit it again. Therefor I doubt it would help them, it could also work ag...Jump to post

Wow, you're a sunny optimist. My thoughts exactly. One thing I have noticed is how much interest that the prospect of low cost TATL flights has generated in Scotland. N272wa Can I ask what your issue is with Manchester exactly? This is the second time I have seen you take an issue with Manchester getting increases, and seem to derive the thought. Not surprising to see this happen. In any case, the reality is that these capacity increases mentioned above on Manchester's TATL network are pretty much summer seasonal services only anyway.... SFO, LAX, ORD, BOS, MIA are all seasonal. So saying that the demand from MAN to the US is not weak is mis...Jump to post

Per Reuters: Friday's news gave Norwegian the chance "to open up a lot more routes from the U.S. to Europe" and onward to other destinations, Norwegian spokesman Anders Lindstrom said. I actually wouldn't rule MAN out so quickly. Always seems to happen on these forums where Manchester seems to get ruled out quickly, but with 25million plus passengers, more long haul links than ever and still growing, it's time to stop with the very quick 'nah, not Manchester' but then rule others...Jump to post
