Re: Bed ridden injured passengers on commercial flights

I was flown from Malaysia to New Zealand, as I had a neck problem and was unable to walk. In business class escorted by a nurse. Flight attendants were asked to help hold my neck still if we experienced any turbulence, which we didn't. Both nurse's and my fare was paid for by travel insurance. It wa...

Re: Cathay Pacific reporta $74 million loss for 2016

I have been flying Cathay frequently for 20 years both business and economy, and last trip in February the first class lounge at HK airport was empty, never seen that before. The restaurant there is superb. The trip before Cathay staff were cold and indifferent, but this last trip they were back to ...

RE: Four Brits Arrested At Nairobi For Spotting

Yes happened to me at Mexico City. Waiting for my luggage and they had windows where you could see the bags being unloaded and put on the belt. Took a photo and the guy next to me said you will be in trouble. Didn't think much of it until a very large policeman said you took photo. I said yes he sai...

RE: Qatar Airways Introduces Doha And Dubai Shuttle

Its big for me as a one world flyer. I come to Dubai on Emirates/QF from Asia, then fly to Qatar to join the next one world connection, which is Qatar Airways and meet many other people doing the same thing. Do business in both Dubai and Doha.

RE: Could Windowless Passenger Airliners Be Done?

Its kinda of already happening in many Cathay Coffins seats and the reaction from the passengers is not good. Almost all of them want to see out the windows. They are there but you cannot see out of them. And this is in business class. I am told, and have no firm evidence on this, that the person re...

18 lie-flat Business Premier zone in a herringbone layout!!

That means the business class Coffin lives on

Other airlines have tried this and its been replaced

No good if you have a partner you want to talk to, or family

Bogged Down In Bangkok

On Monday we tried to leave Bangkok on a CX 777/300, it was fully loaded but just a 2+ hour flight to Hong Kong. Engines reved up as usual and we just sat there, no movement. Captain said sorry folks due to the hot temperatures and lots of ...

RE: LH To Open Shenyang And Qingdao

The flight from Seoul used to leave at very early like 5:30am. Shenyang is (apart from what LH said) also the centre of an energy province and has I am told they have the largest open cast coal mine in the world. I have asked many times can I go and see...

RE: Does A Car-GPS Work In Flight?

I tried it once in 2000 when travelling from LA to Chicago. I used a garmin with an external ariel which I slid under the top of the window and then followed my little car going across the mid west at close to 1,000 kph. The crew thought it was hilarious, so did ...

RE: 777 Underbelly Camera

On an Iberia flight last week from Sao Paulo to Madrid on an airbus 340-600 they had a tail mounted camera, and in my view gave a better view of the takeoff than Cathay's 777 camera. But although the landing was ok, it wasn't as good as seeing the front wheel come down and seeing the ground get clos...

RE: Cathay Pacific All Asia Pass

I use the Asia pass several times each year from New Zealand and have done for many years. I think it is one of the best fares available. Over the years the cost has risen and there has been a removal of options, like extending the 30 days limit. One problem is that Cathay sees each flight as one of...

RE: Boeing Showcases Web Service In China

I used the Tenzing service in March on CX and its hopeless. You send a message and it sits on a computer server on the airplane, then eventually (somewhere between 20 minutes and 2 hours) it sends your message down. Then after a long wait y...

RE: Vietnam Airlines: What Are They Like?

Kind of old fashioned

But wonderful food, a fusion between the best of French and Asian, great.

But their systems and attitudes are in need of an upgrade. For example each plane arriving in H.C.M.C. is escorted in by a security car, then there is the wait to clear immigration etc.

RE: Anyone Flown EZE-AKL

I have flown this several times on QF before it ended. Usually we flew between 55-60 degrees south and once down at 65 degrees south to pick up favourable winds. Once as we passed over an Argentinian ski field we were told to look out the window and they...
