Looks like Icelandair is cancelling TPA and blaming the MAX for it. Hopefully, it means they can come back once that debacle is resolved.

UA167 from Lisbon to IAD just attempted to divert to DCA. After going around once it landed at DCA just before a line of severe storms ripped through. Weather is the obvious reason, but has there been an international diversion like this before? Can CBP process these folks or do they have to get to...Jump to post

Honestly, maybe they should partner with Apple to develop a lightweight/futuristic IFE system. Utilize iPads and their existing DMA software that many in the entertainment industry already trusts. Go after Delta/Gogo with a solution from a company that they already have a Music partnership with and ...Jump to post
The Overhaul is actually a complete gutting of the A321s. They’ve redone everything inside of the plane (including the galleys). The only thing missing is IFE at every seat (which management is thinking of adding at some point). Call me skeptical about that IFE comment... would love for to see a re...Jump to post

Curious question for our more techincal folks, how much would MWAA need to extend DCA's 33 to make it at least consistently useable for the plethora of E175s at the field. I know hell would freeze over for any extension to happen, but just curious. That seems to be the only way to add any more slot ...Jump to post
Could Level make a service work from the continent? bo)am Assuming they would fly out of their BCN base, I think not yet... While I'd love to see TPA be an international powerhouse, the market will be digesting the current European capacity for a while yet. It will be interesting to see what happen...Jump to post
United Airlines to invest $33M in new facility at Tampa International Airport: https://www.bizjournals.com/tampabay/news/2019/02/08/united-airlines-to-invest-33m-in-new-facility-at.html The article states The agreement, if approved, would last 20 years with two, five-year renewal options. Saw some interesting action the other day at DCA: 1) Rapidly shifting winds causing all the anticipated Rwy 1 departures to be rejected (10+ knot tail wind) and all the aircraft taxiied up 1/19 to prepare for Rwy 19 departures. Looked like a conga line. 2) Saw a departure off Rwy 22 for the first t...Jump to post
AA's EYW cuts are pretty painful especially DCA-EYW. I hope this isn't a permanent realignment because the region has been bouncing back after the storm. Looks like I am moving over to Delta in the meantime.Jump to post
B6 definitely deserves the award so far for trying to operate as much of their schedule as possible. I can only imagine those E190s are a bit wobbly on approach.Jump to post
Quasi-anecdotal, but it seems like AA has largely given up on DCA ops today. I don't see many AA planes on their way to DCA.Jump to post
I just heard on atc that there is a ramp freeze at Dulles due to VIP movement for 20 minutes. Wonder what this could be? UA6320 diverting to PIT because of no landing traffic is allowed at IAD. My better half said that the President is flying out of Dulles today instead of Andrews. I thought that s...Jump to post

Other than it being the new airplane (sort of, its still pretty much a 737.) why would they? I hope y'all don't honestly think Doug is going around trying out every seat, every lav, every airplane etc. etc. He has direct reports that have direct reports that have direct reports that do that. NK launching TPA-LAX and TPA-LAS. Hope it drives down DL's prices on TPA-LAX. Great news re LAX. It was disappointing to see AA drop the market after such a short trial. It's definitely long but not that thin of a market, so at the right fares NK could work. I concur about AA, but it was cut during...Jump to post

A few points: ships 935-942 were originally delivered to AW not US. Of the 8 remaining legacy birds 2 of them 182 and 677 still have the classic 22F wide beige leather seats.
