Thanks to flyPIT's post in the PIT thread ... As a US citizen, the tax going further north into Canada is probably much more because YVR, YYZ, YUL (and everywhere within 225mi from the US) is exempt from international departure/arrival tax charged by the US, which amount to USD $37.20 round-trip. Canadian citizen do not have this exemption. In...Jump to post

The road traffic in Traverse is reaching intolerable levels. I stay up in Leelanau peninsula and plan my trips to town carefully. I prefer 6am flight outbound and 11pm flights inbound as you can sail thru town ,otherwise traffic can add at least a half hour getting out to M-22 PSU in his post above ...Jump to post
B6 doesn’t really do this highly seasonal service what effectively amounts to a 12-15 week peak summer seasonal demand for TVC. A lot of this recent incremt service to TVC amount to using 76 seaters on Saturdays during peak season. I thought they might consider mimicking their seasonal MVY and ACK ...Jump to post
MVY (and ACK) does not have huge resorts and doesn't pull much from areas of considerable distance. It's primarily a destination for areas in the Northeast and has good ferry service, but I don't think it's well known beyond the Northeast. As I mentioned above, MVY is quite well-known among African...Jump to post
as much as I miss my sleepy child hood days of North Central to Detroit and ORD from TVC, these new developments are so exciting and PSU.DTW is spot on about the seasonal demographics. Original summer families are now flung far and wide and clamor each summer to visit Grandma and Grandpa at the cott...Jump to post
it appears you can throw anything at TVC in summer and it will stick. My cousin will probably book her DCA-TVC flight this coming weekend as she lives in Old Town Alexandria and has her summer home in Leelanau. Practically a personal shuttle. I just emailed her the news. She didn't use the UA nonsto...Jump to post
Wasn't there an airline in the east (I think they had a base in Pittsburgh) that tried the same? Small planes with business friendly timetable. They merged with another airline that did charters and I think eventually they went bankrupt. Isn't this kind of the same thing they are trying to do? I th...Jump to post

UA FNT-ORD APR 3>1.0 I feel conflicted about this. As an MBS person, FNT downgauges, reductions and eliminations are great news. I am skeptical about this reduction by UA. I looked on UA's website, and the April 2020 flights still show 3-4 flights a day. I worry the FNT-ORD reduction is an error...Jump to post
Cape Air going to BNA raises an eyebrow. Tapping into future opportunity? OWB would be far better served with a trip to ord, but that is a long haul in a 310. Y Cape committed to BNA in their latest EAS bid, I believe that the other two bidders also included service to additional cities, but it app...Jump to post

It looks like there are enough flights to provide some B6 feed even with the early departure from BOS. ATL, BWI, ORD, DCA, SYR, RIC, RDU, PIT, LGA, JFK, DTW, & CLE all have early enough arrivals into BOS to make a reasonable connection. They can also get some 9K connections from AUG, BHB, LEB, ...Jump to post

It is 109 miles but UA* (and several others) have run this route since day 1. Hate to see another legend bite the dust.
I just spent May-mid October in Leelanau County and then back to Palm Springs. Best of both worlds. Had guests from all over the country visiting. and they now plan to re-visit each summer! I particularly liked the AA 's TVC-DFW service getting back and forth to California.Jump to post
Depends on the pro rate agreement between the airlines involved. Also JVs and revenue sharing matter here as ultimately money may end up back in the same pot to be divided up again as per the share calculation. Secondary cities, hubs etc. generally don’t matter. Mileage matters more, generally. Eit...Jump to post

My brother, a 35 year resident of Madison STILL will not fly out of there. He is so locked into the Vangelder bus shuttle to O'Hare. He must secretly get some jolly going that route or still thinks Madison is served with rickety commuter planes!., Oh well, he's getting old.Jump to post

oh and another MS note, the American /Contour Airlines interline agreement just went live this morning and one can now book TUP to AA network booking via Expedia, Cheapoair, etc. Its not showing on AA.com yet. But this helps TUP back into the global network of air travelJump to post
I'm worried we'll never see a legacy on PIT-LAX if NK is ramping up to double daily. Seriously, why does our longest domestic flight have to be on Spirit of all airlines. I used to complain about WN having the LAX flight instead of legacies, and WN is a dream compared to NK. I one time flew CLE-LAS...Jump to post
^part of me is still surprised there wasn't more pushback at CGI because Air Choice One was so much cheaper. Sounds like being a single engine plane is what hurt them. Curious if Cape Air had bid if it would have been different. I still am really curious to see what they do with Decatur since Cape ...Jump to post
United starts ORD-SBA but it is red-eye from SBA-ORD arrive ORD 5AM. Nobody really wants to fly 11PM to 5AM to ORD. I bet will not make a good load. They are expanding out of HHH to most of their hubs on the East: DCA, PHL, CLT, ORD and DFW. But how about MIA? Will there ever be a nonstop MIA-HHH? Probably not mainline but at least Eagle. Thanks for looking. Is MSP-JAC really done after January 5th? That would be a major loss. It was 2x daily at times this summer. JAC is a very seasonal market so MSP-JAC will resume in the summer. evidently Ultimate is downgrading from Dornier 328 Jet to Beech 1900 for off season out of MBL. The transition obviously has not gone smoothly. Actually, the EAS contractor is Public Charters.
