United had no problem bringing back the vendors that tag bags at the ticket counters, while they have thousands of Customer Service Agents furloughed. Just like our politicians, they don't care about the middle class worker. There’s nothing inherently wrong with vendors at UA or anywhere else; some...Jump to post

Last night at PDX, someone broke through the security gate and drove onto the airfield. They drove under a Southwest plane on the taxiway and finally the Port Police pitted the car behind the Southwest gates. The person tried to run but was tackled by the Police. I heard there was a child in the car...Jump to post
The new PDX concourse E extension is quite underwhelming for me. It's open and airing but does not wow me. A lot of wasted space with few eateries. Where are all the Portland restaurants the Port said was coming? I think Southwest got the short end of the stick with the move.Jump to post
Since the merger, line stations started to get Assistant General Managers. We always had one Station Manager and a few supervisors. We also had double the departures. Now we have two managers and a lot more supervisors. They removed all payroll duties from the supervisors and gave it to the admins, ...Jump to post

Also what was the other subsidiary?
United feeds a lot of passengers to ET out of PDX and they fork out tons of extra bag fee charges every flight. The usual is 5 passengers = 30 bags on our flights. I would like to find out how many total bags their ORD/IAD-ADD flights depart with?Jump to post
United has its own ATW and BTW employees at NRT, so I don't see them moving a lot of flighst to HND.Jump to post
On FR24, I just saw an Xtra Airways 737-400 (N313XA) taxi from the terminal, it looks like it was at gate C8: https://www.flightradar24.com/SWQ9313/1f5e6798 It's doing ENV-PDX-RDM routing: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N313XA/history/20190201/2030Z/KPDX/KRDM Is it normal for these charter pla...Jump to post
The United hangar might not happen now. The current problem is the whole ANG base uses one meter for all its water and one meter for electricity. The Port wants United to foot the bill to split these utilities which will cost 2 million plus. The Port rather have empty unused spaces rather then helpin...Jump to post

The city of Portland, Oregon started a sick time ordinance a few years ago. The ordinance states any company that has a business in the city limits must give their employees 40 hours of sick time a year without retaliation. So with my airline and our CBA, the employees can take 4-10 sick days a year...Jump to post
United will be doing B checks on the A320 at PDX. They use to do B checks on the 757 back in the day. United is looking at two options for their hangar. The old AFR one on the south side, but I heard this building would need major updating. The second option is razing the old Delta cargo building an...Jump to post
I don't care how many times the bean counters tell you that the 737-900ER is the 757-200 replacement, it's not and never will be. The 900ER might carry close to what the 757-200 did in passengers, but that's where it stops. It can't haul bags and cargo like the 757 did. They're weight restricted, lo...Jump to post
They can probably build 6 more gates onto E. They would have to move the E5 jetway more east to line up the new gates. The port replaced the asphalt with concrete a few years ago on the E6 ramp, so they can save time building the new extension and not have to worry about the ramp area, I wonder if H...Jump to post
I just heard that the POP will not build the concourse E extension for Horizon and Alaska will stay where they are. The POP will add mainline gates to the E concourse and move a airline over from the other side. Maybe American or Southwest will move over to the north side? The airlines will be votin...Jump to post
