RE: AC464 In J, Short Ride On The 27 Years Old Beauty

Really enjoyed reading this trip report.

Would be interested to know why you hate the 737, and weren't impressed by the 787-9?

Thank you.

RE: MH370 Malaysia Airlines B772 Missing Enroute KUL-PEK Part 48

Don't know about the rest of the EU but here in the UK the four Boeing 777 simulators are booked solid around the clock. We hire these simulators for pilot training and, to get B777 slots, it's usually necessary to book months ahead. Several news channels have hired our B737NG simulator recently due...

RE: MH370 Malaysia Airlines B772 Missing Enroute KUL-PEK Part 14

This is what I believe happened... The aircraft turned back towards <acronym title="KLM Royal Dutch Airlines">KL</acronym> due to a pressurisation problem. The pilots didn't put on oxygen masks in time and became unconscious, hence no distress call. The oxygen masks in the cabin would have dropped d...

RE: BA Goes Brilliant White.

I think <acronym title="British Airways">BA</acronym>'s livery manages to make a brand-new aircraft like an A380 or B787 instantly look 40 years old. I don't like the Mylius font, or the shade of blue on the belly, or the dirty white (although I'm sure the new brilliant white will be an improvement)...

The 2-4-2 layout in Y on JAL looks much more comfortable than BA's 3-3-3 layout on their 787s.

Very enjoyable trip report, and great photos. The combination of the new Sky Interior on the 737-800 and Virgin's nice seating is really impressive. Wish the low cost carriers here in Europe were more like that!

CFM And IAE Engines On Vueling's New Sharklet A320

I've seen photos of new-build Vueling A320s with Sharklets, and they seem to be taking a mix of CFM and IAE powered aircraft. I realise that some carriers operate different Airbus narrowbody aircraft with different engine types (Lufthansa have IAE on A321 but CFM on A319/A320, and Monarch have IAE o...

RE: Does Boeing Rue The Day It Developed The 748?

Is Lufthansa the only airline to have ordered the 748i so far? Any others on the cards?

It seems to me that Boeing have effectively handed the market (for aircraft larger than 777W) to Airbus.

This *was* a rather interesting thread about <acronym title="British Airways">BA</acronym>'s long haul fleet renewal. It's now seems to have gone off topic and turned into an argument about the B787-3's range! Maybe those wishing to chat about the range of the B787-3 could take their discussion to a...

A350-800 and A350-900 to replace B763 and eventually B772.

Any guesses?

Im trying to work out how the A350 Family will compare with Boeing products, based on published 3-class seating capacity: A350-800 (270) = B787-9 A350-900 (314) = B777-200 A350-1000 (350) = B777-300 Is this correct?
