Interior mod prices for the A380 are being exagerated. It should be the same pro rata as any other airliner, airlines have just been using this as an excuse. The fact is that BA is doing fine for now, but they are setup for a dwindling future. LHR will progressively lose relevance as other London a...Jump to post
Saudia ( operated by AAI) flies the B744 to SUB, DAC, LHE, KNO, KAN, ALG, ISB, Sometimes KUL.
Maybe worth a trip for the enthousiast...
No, they are NOT. Air Atlanta Icelandic’s main focus, revenue and fleet is the Passenger operation, with both B747-400 and A340. Huh? They're ostensibly a charter airline/leasing outfit, mostly focusing on 747Fs and Haji 747s. They don't have, and never did have, any A340s. Not sure what you're on ...Jump to post
Guys, this was in reality a non-event. They had automation, they had all instrumentation except 2 radio altimeters ( only needed for autoland anyhow) and the failure of the auto speedbrake is absolutely nothing to worry about. Even the weather was more or less ok. Ps. I am an actual Boeing widebody...Jump to post
You fly an RNAV approach, or a Non-precision VOR or even NDB. If wx below the minima for such approaches you declare a PanPan and write a safety report after landing. A total non-event being blown-up for sensationalism.
This kind of situation happens daily multiple times.

it is ALWAYS the Captain who has the last word on everything going on within his/her ship from the moment he/she boards until he/she exits the aircraft after the flight.
Some here have no idea what they are talking about Sabena had a very GOOD name actually since the mid 90’s, with big increase in passenger numbers and quality perception. Of course, Sabena had also the name of being one of, if not THE Safest Airline, with still unsurpassed training for their crews.(...Jump to post
The A380 is NOT allowed to land in JED, and this will not change in the short term. As long as the Whale can not go to JED, this whole operation is doomed as Hadjj and Umrah pilgrims return home from JED airport ( and not from MED where they arrive) The B747-8 is much more suitable for this kind of ...Jump to post

Let me put one thing straight: No Foreign registered aircraft should comply with the labour laws it overflies, simply because it has nothing to do with them. The country of registration is the only country which labour law needs to be followed. The USA has no jurisdiction over a Foreign Registered A...Jump to post
As far as I remember, an eagle or other huge bird got ingested on one of the engines a few knots before V1, and as per procedure and emergency briefing, the Captain , I believe Capt. Van Riet rejected the take-off. The aircraft would have indeed struggled to clear the hills if they had continued. Sa...Jump to post

As far as I know, and I am a Captain on B744, this fuel tank modification requirement is not necessary for non FAA carriers and is also totally unnecessary safety wise. By the way, not only B747 is affected, Also B777, B737 and Airbus A330 and A320 series are involved. The B744 is a magnificent flyi...Jump to post
"The Terminator" can kiss my hairy ass .
It was Sabena itself that designed the Conversion, and all original DC10-30's ( A to E) operated by Sabena could be operated either as Combi or as Full Pax. As far as I remember.
Sabena's level of Engineering, Training and Pilot standard has always been the absolute top in Aviation.

RAM is a disgrace of an " airline" for participating in Pay to Fly schemes where young foreign First Officers pay up to 30.000$ to RAM to work as FO on their network for about a year. After that, they are fired and replaced by new ones who are willing and desperate enough to pay. Absolutely insultin...Jump to post
Carst, And prices are so cheap nowadays that you can not expect any better service and more space unfortunately. Webuser, The B744 is far SUPERIOUR to the Whale to be honest. More redundancy in case of technical issues inflight ( safety), much better ride in turbulence, more beatiful, etc. Yes, she is a little bit noisier, but for the rest, she is truly the Queen.
