Re: JetBlue Network Thread - 2019

On the EWR front. They currently maximize at 31 departures per day in March/April season. They are doing 7x BOS, 5x FLL, 6x MCO, 4 x PBI, 2x SJU, 3x RSW, 2x TPA, 1x STI/SDQ. If they want to quickly add 2 of the 3 gates WN is giving up, they could run a schedule of 12x BOS, 7x FLL, 7x MCO, 5xPBI, 2x...

The allure of mini-fortress hub in BOS is great. The YOY Q1 comparison is off because the Easter/Passover week moved to Q2 this year. AA is a mess at JFK. Too much capacity at BOS As for B6 going north of 200 flights in BOS...they are bleeding money and it isnt a smart war. I believe B6 and DL will need to learn to coexist like they do in JFK and...

Thanks enilria! Regarding the B6 DCA slots: my understanding is that they still have the same amount of slots. I could definitely see B6 doing the Continental strategy of secondary Europe, plus seasonal services to places like PRG and FCO. As for the Americas, GRU could be a destination, but at 4130 nmi, that could be pushing it from JFK, depending on the configuration. HOWEVER, every South American capital...

They are basically shifting all the short range E90 flying out of JFK and using those slots for A321 VFR flights. Good for profitability, not good for their nyc network. Saw something interesting from Alaska Airlines investor update. http://investor.alaskaair.com/static-files/3a1d50cc-db5f-41c4-adc4-82bb7a47f6df For the good news, B6 has very good balance sheet with very little debt. B6 is also spending a lot more on CAPEX and growing a lot more than AS. Lower proj...

Re: Alaska, JetBlue Lower Q1 RASM Outlook on Transcon Fare War

Not sure if you wanna heap CA and NY with MA. The MA SALT deduction is much less than those of CA and NY. Also, people who have large SALT deductions belong to the top 1%. They easily can afford to fly. If anything, the reduced demand is because of the lower classes experiencing harder times. Don't...

Alaska, JetBlue Lower Q1 RASM Outlook on Transcon Fare War

AS and B6 both revised RASM guidance significantly lower last week, as discussed at the J.P. Morgan Aviation, Transportation and Industrials Conference in New York, largely due to competitive pricing in the BOS/NYC transcon markets. Fares can be found as low as $109 between JFK and LAX, and I have f...
