It was my understanding that on a recent AA flight, there were issues getting fuel and getting the plane back this almost forced the crew to have to overnight in CCS which they want to avoid at all cost. Maybe they cancel for a week hoping the power outage/shortages settle for a bit

I think you also need to consider which passport/visa you're holding. Things will go a lot smoother/quicker if you're holding a US passport over a foreign passport.
