It's getting cold in fall, Berlin is an excellent start point! But for outstanding night-life and much better weather I would visit Barcelona - flights and hostels are cheap too! Thanks to the competition of LCC carriers like U2, FR or VY from TXL or SXF you will find easily a flight down south.

My experience was different - crew members were running through the cabin with the menu cards. If you needed something, you had to stop them for ordering. On longer flights a trolley service was provided.

One interesting point - PlusUltra is very well known for not spending a single penny into the aircraft interior... Their A340-300 are operating with the interior of the previous operator. So, will it keep the ETHIAD layout, even with FirstClass seating?

Since yesterday the law changed dramatically... The EU airline is now responsible, if it sold the ticket and NOT any longer the operating carrier; bcs. the EU airline can ask for compensation from the partner carrier. So indeed, AF needs to refund the sector in Economy.
