When you try to call delta they won't even let you join a que it just says to call back in an hour. Tried to check on a flight for a family member the automated system says no flights found. Really down not even the flight status auotnated system will tell you anythingJump to post
This is just headline grabbing stunts. Anyone with a smart phone can basically do this now. The technology isn't that impressive yet I wouldn't want to watch a full movie that.
Is AS still this mad they didn't install PTVs when they should have.
Any law could easily grandfather planes built after a certain time etc etc there would be many ways to grandfather in setups so that airlines wouldn't need to reconfugure anything. Could be a moving forward situation. I have little expectation that any law would pass. If it did it would be much lowe...Jump to post
I can't really see a need for this. Except maybe a ULCC similar to a Sanford type setup. There would never be a need to build a train. It could take LAS a while to go significantly past capacity. Many airports operate way beyond what they were designed for. Look at SLC and how many people go thru th...Jump to post
WN has sold themselves as more of a full-service airline. They have spent alot on marketing and it's their product differentiator at this point. Let's face it WN gets higher fares than a lot of airlines on routes because they have a very loyal fan base and people know they get alot more value so the...Jump to post
This only makes sense. I can't imagine there is a reader out there who is shcoked by this news, or doubts it.Jump to post
DXB is a connecting city the O&D to any city in the US is nothing amazing and every city that has o&d is overserved already because of emirates. 0 percent chance. Having been to Dubai it has no appeal to American tourists , I couldnt wait to get out of there. Delta was bleeding money from th...Jump to post

What? That’s United no contest dude.
Delta has the best hubs. This really is the key to their success. They connect people thru low cost to operate facilities, places with decent O&D and business traffic but less competition. They get all of a smaller cake in these places that print money and just focus O&D routes where they wa...Jump to post
DL had not entered the SEA market as a hub and spoke operator at the time that WN retrenched. It had more to Southwest placing emphasis on and building up Denver than anything. No but delta was on all of those SLC routes mentioned. It was both AS and DL that made those routes less attractive in add...Jump to post
Combination of AS and DL. Most of these don't have the O&D southwest needs for their model to work. Would have been easy to chase them off these routes. Also WN use to connect alot of people thru SLC that traffic now all goes thru DEN. Some of these flights moved to DEN as that is where the conn...Jump to post
HVN-JFK as a flight???? That is served by COMMUTER rail AND Amtrak extremely frequent service. Just wouldn't make sense given how delay prone JFK is. DCA would make more sense for B6 but those are valuable slots because there would be some premium O&D. If B6 does HVN look for it to be Florida. I...Jump to post
With Frontier at just 2x / week
Yeah i just hope that bookings are good, and they add more. They must be testing the market. Still should be good to lower prices to Orlando for all carriers
I don't think DAB and BTV announcement have anything in common. They just happen to be on the same day randomly.
BTV is on frontiers city pulldown with an image clearly of the city. Daytona is not on the list. So it sounds like BTV is getting frontier and DTB is getting sunwing.
I can't imagine BTV isn't F9. 24 hours from now we will know!Jump to post
right now Porter flys to:
BTV Burlington VT
MYR Myrtle Beach
What other opportunities are out there? I would think PHL, BWI, DTW are the most obvious business markets that are close by. RDU/CLT a bit further away probably has some potential
Starting next summer: FRA-JFK: daily FRA-YYZ: daily FRA-BOS: 4x weekly FRA-YUL: 3x weekly Personally, really happy that there will be another option out of Frankfurt. But to the good people of Hamburg, this probably is an insult of a whole new kind. You're a start-up TATL carrier and instead of a b...Jump to post
Are they net operational cash burners or not?...that is what will ultimately matter for survival... Faro They tend to make money 3 out of 4 quarters due to seasonality. A.net has been on a bender to fan the flames that Norwegian is on the verge of liquidation (probably because the US3 and unions ha...Jump to post
It's great to see airlines like F9 and SY that were once on death's door thriving these days. I flew SY for the first time this May RSW-MSP-LAX and found the airline as well as the MSP Terminal 2 experience to be excellent value for the price I paid. I would certainly not hesitate to fly SY again, ...Jump to post
I have gotten to the point where I want older planes. A plane just refurbished the seats are horrible for comfort. The seats were so much more comfortable besides the extra 2 Inches of leg room the new seats are so light weight and no padding. The old seats we use to complain about now seem super pa...Jump to post
Don't expect costs to go up too much at SLC. The airport was sitting on a huge pile of cash because of Delta and Delta agreed to pay for some things they wanted out of pocket. I don't think costs are an issue for them in SLC. I think ELP is smarter because there is less competition and the airport w...Jump to post
I believe most of DL's outperformance can be explained by the fact that they enjoy over 70% market share and no alternative airport competition at each of their four biggest hubs. No, that's not it. ATL, DTW and MSP (all going back pre-merger) get the majority of traffic as connections. 'Dominating...Jump to post
Will airlines really care that much? HND advantage is for frequent travelers. People going to the olympics most are traveling once, an extra hour on the train is not a big deal. It might not even be that far depending on where they are going?Jump to post
Pretty much everything in Central/Eastern Europe can fill in Summer and empty the rest of the year. I do bet Berlin picks up more Summer only service to NA. AA has reported PRG and BUD were excellent this summer. Good summer market, weak year round. I bet they will land more summer only service.Jump to post
AS should seriously add SEA-YYZ, with the growth of both Toronto and Seattle tech hubs, this route could be viable w more airlines other than AC. Seattle is home of Amazon and Microsoft. YYZ seems to me to be a big hole in the AS network. Especially when the Blue Jays come to town and take over Saf...Jump to post
This announcement should provide some clarity on what direction AS wants to go in: 1.Focus on SEA put all resources and defend the main hub 2.Expand PDX 3.Focus on the CA focus cities 4.add a new focus city 5. Go Frontier style and just fly a bunch of random routes they see underserved (lets hope th...Jump to post
I don't think LAS makes much sense. The legacies run large planes to their hubs. Allegiant flys to the smaller cities. WN pretty much flies everywhere there is heavy volume. Spirit and Frontier cleans up everything else. There is no real opportunities in LAS for domestic traffic. AS would just be co...Jump to post
