Re: FedEx and it’s airborne ‘sweep’ aircraft

It looks like 1311 only operates on Thursdays now instead of MO-TH like it did for years. Most of the sweeper flights that we have been getting lately have been coming out of LBB. I don't think that the flight FX out of LBB is a true sweeper flight, though. It just happens to have the excess capacit...

Re: FedEx to park 35 planes on weaker demand

FedEx this peak season had absolutely horrible reliability. Not a single package arrived on-time and they lost about 50% of them with the status still “pending”. Amazon on the other hand delivered everything on-time without losing a single package. FedEx did a lot of damage to their reputation as a...

I was married to a flight attendant for 16 years and I remember the buying and selling trips very well. One aspect of it that I found hard to believe was the “bid services” run by some flight attendants and how the company allowed it to happen. A bid service is where a flight attendant would have ac...

It's my understanding that pilots flying cargo are not required to go through any TSA screening. They literally just walk on. This true? Every fedex or UPS flight I’ve ridden as a passenger on, I’ve had to go through X-ray screening. It’s not Tsa but my bags have always been X-rayed and screened, w...

Does anybody know why the MEM chopped off the southern most gates of the A terminal? They demolished the part of the terminal that used to be gates 58 through about 62 or 63. I forgot what the gate numbers were after they renamed them with the A prefix. It wasn’t too long ago when they tore it down.

You don't want your hub in the geographic center of the US. You want it closer to Ohio. The reason is so you can run trucks from your hub to the close (8hr drive) cities and still make it overnight.
