When I was on the tour of Everett a couple of years back the tour guide driving the bus around the pre-delivery dock area was asked this same question, and she too gave the answer that 7 was seen as a mystical, and lucky number not necessarily by the engineers but the public as well.

Even though I support Boeing and would have a good laugh if it couldn't off the ground, I have heard and know that Airbus has some of the best engineers in the world and I doubt that they would undertake such a massive program's test flight without knowing 99.9% sure that it will get off the ground.

After recently flying two legs in the 744 and two on the A345, I would take the 744. Although the A345 was the SQ leadership, I still loved and enjoyed the feeling of traveling onboard the giant that the 744 is.

I land on SQ 64 from Singapore on 8/2 at Don Mueang, and I swear there was a golf course parallel to the runway. I am not sure which runway we were on. The Golfers all looked up upon landing!

The IATA and the ICAO, and most pilots speak English. This is an aviation forum, and English is the recognized aviation language. Yet, mandarin Chinese is the most spoken in terms of people.
