Just use the crop tool and enter Width as 3, Height as 2 and leave the Resolution box blank.
Then you can resize down to 1024x??? (??? usually = ~683)

It could probably handle a small increase in sharpness, but, I think the rejection is a little harsh as your image would be the first in the database. I have read in the photographic press that it is good for around 50,000 actuation's. I cannot seem to find any details on the Canon site though at this time.

I would think that you are correct with your assumption that it is down to the change in your monitor.

I can see a clear difference, the second one is much sharper. I wouldn't add anymore though around the edges, it is on the verve of showing 'halos' now. I felt the same when I had a series of F'boro shots rejected for 'file error' I'd never had such a problem before and haven't since.
