Its a beauty to look at, but I feel its starting to get close to the edge of time where material failure becomes a factor. I've got my flamesuit on..... BTW, I too will be leaving A.net, like the skipper did. The post deletions and harrassment by a specific member are the reasons why. I don't expect...

RE: Oldest 747 Still Flying

"Remember that the true measurement of an aircrafts age, is based on hours and cycles on the airframe not calendar years." I respectfully disagree. I think the active time a plane flies should not be the sole indicator of its age--its really an artificial indicator. Its more complex than that. There...

Its nothing against foreign companies, I just don't like Airbuses and their flat acceleration. Plus I think the name is self-degrading. What pilot wants to be likened to a bus driver?? I don't like the large-scale consortium thing either.

Either that F-14 is huge or the pilots are scrawny (or both)!

As filthy as that jet looks, I would think it would be easily confused with an Air France airbus.

Why the hell does a crappy baseball game require a flyover by a bunch of F-15s? Quite stupid if you ask me. It freaks people out, especially in Manhattan, and its a big waste of money. Professional sports are for the bored and unsophisticated amongst us.

Its quite ironic that the engines roar like they do, yet have unimpressive linear acceleration. I also think that the engine cowlings/nacelles are not as thick/sturdy, and hence create strong, low-pitched reverberations.
